How woul these compare in a race.

This guy at work has been talking a lot how is 2005 Eclipse GTS will smoke my 06 Cobalt SS/SC.

We are both stock and i was just curious how the cars compare from a dig and 20mph roll

LOL! How many times have I heard this one?!? 3G Eclipses are a waste. Even 4G's aren't much to speak about as they do have similiar performance stock for stock, but weigh too much and have too little potential.

From a roll they would give a S2 LSJ a good run for its money

3G vs Stock SS/SC should be a good race but the SS/SC should win.

4g would walk all over a stock balt

I wouldn't go from a 20 roll, but you should definately take him by a lot.

I raced one when i was all stock and he had CAI and full exhaust and i beat him like it was nothing

i disagree I have raced a 4g when I was stock and it wasn't anywhere near walking all over me the damn things weigh too much it was a good race but I won the race. Stage 2 would be the one walking all over the 4g.

Never raced a new GT, the most trouble I had with an eclipse was with a GS-T (I was stock), I'd had the SS S/C for a month or so and hadn't raced anyone yet, so I had a go from 30. By the top of second I was walking away pretty good, that turbo doesn't seem to do those GS-T's justice in fart-cannon trim. The Gen-4 GT's are faster, but it's a driver's race from a dig IMO.

no...theres atleast 3 members on this site, 2 with just headers/exhaust, one tthat's stage 2, and all have smoked a 4thG eclipse, yes 3.0, in my town.
They were even till 3rd gear then passed him, cept the stg2, he beat him from the start.

I'll get them on here if you want proof....ones sleeperss/sc or sleeper s/c.

it was a 3g then, and from what i hear the 3g's are nothing special

I completely agree.

The new eclipses are pretty fast.

They are heavy......they are like a FWD F-body

Don't know much about them, but if anyone remembers Adam, or knows who he was on here, he drives one now, so it must be pretty quick.

poor mitsubishi. They keep going backwards performance wise with their cars wtf.
