Cobalt vs Bolt on ls1

Cobalt vs Bolt on ls1
I was out crusing to go see my girlfriend and a camaro turns onto the road. He had debadged it and removed the modeling so at first i thought it was a v6 then i heard him start driving and that kinda gave it away he was a ls1. Onto the races
Race 1 40 punch i go he just kinda of stays back ( he told me he just left it in foruth becuase he didn't think much of my car becuase it was just a cobalt) so i let off after a second not seeing him race
Race 2 he is in second his time and he waves me to take the jump so i jump and he follows after i hit my gas. Through second i had a 1.5 cars i grabbed third and he was coming up but let off at 85.
Race 3 he tells me to jump again and hits it rate after me i put the same distance on him as before and we take it up to 100 this time were he reduces my lead to a fender and we let off.
We stopped at a parking lot and talked for a little showed off our mods and what not so heres everything
99 ls1 camaro 6 speed, bbk longtube headers, ory, borla catback, ls6 intake, slp air lid, drop in, smooth bellows,hurst sts, and a hypertech tune (don't ask me why he should of went custom) maybe gears but im not sure becuase i left him hard in second and that leads me to believe stock 3.42's becuase that would put him at the bottom of his gear.
06 ss/sc cobalt 2.5 pulley, hpt tuned, 60# injectors, drop in filter, cti lt header, 3"dp, stg4 clutch, hurst sts, dual pass intercooler endplate, 2nd heat exchanger ( ran in series with my stock one) 1 step colder plugs, thats about it for performance there are a few more but nothing that adds power.

This is very possible i have seen a buddy of mine he had a 2.7 pully 60#s and a custom tune and some more mods and he beat a bolt on ls1 so i have to say i can believe this

Yeah but don't forget everyone, he said the LS1 WAS PULLING ON HIM.....so if they went from a roll at the same time, the ls1 would have put a car length on him or so...so technically he would've lost....I say it's believable

Also take this into consideration, he said it was a 350 whp 99 ls1, well heres a stock ls1 on the dyno putting out 301 whp http://videos.streetfire.net/video/0...ff01127157.htm , so with the mods the ls1 has he should have been closer to 400 whp than 350. And the cobalt sould be high 2xx like 280 to 300.
I highly doubt the Cobalt is over 280whp thogh.

If it's not I bet its real close. If he has all the modds he listed. I had a stage 5 kit before with the 2.5 pulley pushing 21psi, with no cooling modds or exhaust and it made a huge difference over stock. Just wasn't very safe on the motor, with Intenses mail order tune.

Possibly, but a SS/SC with his mods wont put over 280whp with ease.

Yeah it's pretty hard, heres a guy that made it into 270's whp with 42# injectors 2.8 pulley, exhaust, and meth injection https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ht=cobalt+dyno. So it is possable, but pretty difficult like you said.

im probably arounf 280 with my current setup, shooting for low 300's next spring. Like i said the ls1 was pulling up but let off around 100 so thats ho it happend, had we left at the same time he would have been up not me
