Actually, Mustangs have good handling potential as well... but the broad buyer demographic for the V6's and GT's often mean it makes MONEY sense to stick with a more compliant suspension setup stock.

You beat what was probably a 1994-1998 V6 w/ 150hp and therefore all Mustangs blow? Excellent point

Yep... "Boss 245" on mustangcollective.com

BTW, even my '00 V6 Mustang would probably be capable of 13's if I added gears/t-loc and good tires. As with most cars... it's a matter of knowing what actually works and going with it.

yeah mustangs can handel well..hell any car can..im saying tho in a turn fwd>rwd always..but when it comes to the 1/4 RWD>Fwd..its a give and take thing...

i personally love the new mustangs, and my buddy who has a auto v6 gives me a run for my money and he cant really drive..only problem with the new v6 stangs is that they are the same body as the gt so they weigh alot...

RWD > FWD when it comes to handling...

. hell no. BUT the ss/sc is far better equipped for handling purposes than a v6 mustang, that is the truth. You can throw an ss around turns far harder than a 6, but fwd>rwd is false in every way except in a snow/bad weather condition lol.

Yes, the SS/SC is far better than a V6 Mustang STOCK, but he was talking potential... not stock.

i'm not bragging or anything, but i have a stock LS, and i don't know if this guy was really serious or not, but i beat a 96-ish stang. i mean like i said i don't know how hard he was going, but i passed him up pretty easy. and he instigated it, those stop lights are proving ground lol.

Pretty good chance he was serious... the 94-98 V6 Mustangs had just 145-150hp and terrible gearing. The 99-04's picked up 40-48hp and significantly better gearing, so they are obviously significantly faster. Then, from there, the '05+ V6's went to a different engine, and picked up 20+ horsepower over the 99-04's.

Just a ridiculously quick rundown of the three common V6 Mustangs.
