The 2004 is still when they had 5.0 ltr engines. If you just have intake then it'll be a close race but i will say NO, you wont. Sorry brotha, but if I was abetting man I'd put the $ on the GT.
I used to have one and the Coby's always tried, they all came close but never won. But I was so impressed by them that I went and tradded the Mustang for the balt. LOL Guess they won after all.
Let us know how it goes man. I'm interested to see if I'm right.
******EDIT******
I was totally thinking 1994 not 2004. My bad man.
2004 GT? Yes you will work him over like a like a **** star taking a virgin's cherry.

Given the kid picked up his car the night before. However, no, I'm being completely honest. He smoked me from a dig because, as I said, I can't launch. However we did a 30-70 right after that, I had a bad shift, and we tied. We did another, 25-80ish, and I shifted much better and pulled him in third though we were pretty damn close through second. Maybe his car just wasn't broken in or something, but we did race three times and both of us had a win, a loss, and a tie.

To the OP: Itll be a close race. It all depends on driver, he should beat you from a dig and Ill give you the roll race but it should be with in a car or so.

Man, it's pretty easy to tell who knows what they're talking about and who the fanboys are
Dig or Roll, this is a drivers race. The SS/SC might have the advantage from a roll. The GT has the advantage from a dig.
Wow... thanks for your valuable input.
Everyone bow before jflex... he has a faster car than a stock GT and a stock SS/SC

Nope, you are wrong buddy. They droped the 5.0 in 95 and the GT's went to a 4.6, the 95 cobra had a 5.0 though. The GT's have all been 4.6 liters since then. I will bet you money on this one. I have a good friend that had 2 93 cobras and a 95 cobra, and I used to help him work on the all the time. The 93 cobras were the **** to, his was N/A with all bolt on mods, and would run high 11's on DR's.

Good stuff.
That doesnt make any since, a 94 GT is way slower than a 04 GT. So why would you think a 94 GT could beat him and a 04 couldn't?

I had a 95 GT and a buddy of mine had a 04 GT. we raced all the time and I always won. Cars were as evenly matched as they could get. The 95's and lower are 5.0's and the 04's are 4.6. It's simple math buddy.

The simple math that matters isn't the engine displacement...
2004 GT: 260hp, 3.27 gears
1995 GT: 215hp, 2.73 gears

04 from a dig will whip your ass if he knows how to drive and you know how to drive.
from 40 stock you should take it
04 from a dig and he is just a casual driver probably half a car length ? Depends if you go the full 1/4 in a street race which never happens.
also you arent stock..
pet peeve of mine i am stock except
the except says you are not stock
from 40 stock you should take it

Yeah, the '04 SHOULD be significantly faster, but like you said, that was your experience, and really anything can happen with all the variables that are involved.

You definatley beat the driver who must have been very very bad because the 95 GT is one of the slowest Mustangs ever made, even slower than the old Fox Body Mustangs. An 04 will demolish a 94-95 GT with the 5.0 in it. Just because its a 5.0 doesnt make it fast, plus when have you ever seen a new model car be slower than a old model car?
Just messing with you, Yellow haha
BTW, the 94-98's might have been even slower than the 94-95's, too, but either way, all the 94-98's were slower than an 87+ 5-speed Notchback 5.0.

My friends are in a local mustang car club. All GT's or better. Most are 02's. I can beat all of them except one--from dig/and roll. and the only one that can beat me has some good mods on it and only beat me by half a car(my front was @ his door). So I would say n/p from my expierence.. But then again.....I'm hearing alot of ppl say that it would be an iffy race. So imo.. u have it.. but based on others input....not so sure.
wait are you saying you can beat all the gt's or all the "gt's or better" cause that's quite a bit less believable.
to the thread starter, it should be close if you can drive. From a dig, he should have you until around 100ish then you will probably catch him. From a roll, it depends on the roll. A low roll like say 20...he should still have you. He has 100 ft lbs more torque than you do and isn't much heavier so low speeds are his strong suit. From a 40 roll you will probably inch away from him. good luck.
