BTW, the XLR-V is a 4.4L Supercharged Northstar V8 not an LS2. 443 hp@6,400 rpm/414 lb-ft@3,900 rpm.

since he wasn't quite sure the name of it yet knew the motor, I assumed CTS-V......so to the OP...which one was it. Did you have the name or the motor correct...lol?

I dont think you can confuse a CTS with an XLR, just the engines

Anybody know when the CTS-V switched over to the LS2? Originally it had the LS6.

It changed to the 6.0 litre in 2006.

The CTS-V is due to get the 7.0 for 2008. True it will be de-tuned a little but its still supposed to be around 500hp.

"and i see one of these new caddy xlr or whatever LS2 powered monsters are"

This is the quote where I assumed he was more sure of the motor than the car.....and yes people can confuse them, just like people can confuse cobalts for cavaliers. If you don't know much about the cars/company which makes them, then it's pretty easy......lol

So funny story. i was out tongiht with a few friends. Same lady same car again at a light, she has the window down so i said nice car, she said thank you and it was her sons. Apparently her son is a Caddy technician, and does something with their performance team she wasnt exactly sure. But surely enough he had dumped about $10k more under the hood, she said he didnt even drive the car for a month right after he bought it. Either way a sickly fast car, that at idle sounds cammy as hell... needless to say i almost wetted my pants

I don't get how you got "Whooped". That is like a ricer fly by. were you racing, doesn't look like it. Was granny driving fast, definately. Does that mean you got whooped, nope. otherwise you might as well post about every other car that passes you on the road since it would be the same thing.
