So much bullshit in thread. A fully built turbo civic making 270whp? You can make that on a all motor set up. Dude was either lying or you really just got beat by a 270whp car. Do you NLS or even drive the car hard when you are racing?

"270whp" was what he claimed man, not me. I don't even know exactly what his set-up is either! He wants to keep it on the down low so he can be a sleeper. Just heard from a friend of his and some of his other video's. And yes I used NLS and of course I drive it hard because u can hear my exhaust pretty loud. It's also from the roll so pretty hard to screw it up. LMAO I did lose to him, not doubt about that. Like I said, he earned my respect but I expected nothing less from him considering what his build was. Also, he has an ls motor, not a single cam one from the civic. Built swapped motor, and turbo charged plus light weight equals win for him. I don't know what size turbo he has though, but I'm assuming it must be pretty big to be spooling that late because I've raced other turbo single cam civics before and they have those little greddy turbo's and those guys spool super quick. They are quite impressive from a dig with some nice tires. But when I race them from a roll, it's game over.

What do you have in your cobalt? I mean, whats your boost spike too, what your boost hold too, your on the stock k04 turbo? what kind of bolt ons do you have? Have you dyno'd the car? It might be in the video but I only watched it once so Im just asking here.

Im trying to gauge what you have vs what he has here. All motor civics with alot of money dumped into them can dyno 270whp, I believe k24 (rsx motor?) is capable of it when built. or its a shitty ebay turbo on low boost.

okay probably not walk the civic, maybe break even, but that all depends on what he has going on for a tune?

I walked a 360whp/ 360trq wrx, I wont claim thats what my car would dyno, I doubt it. The wrx just got done dynoing when we did that run. Last time I dyno'd it was at 20psi and I had dyno'd 298whp/327trq. My more aggressive tune is set to 24psi, never dyno'd, but I would guess its not above 320whp or 360trq 93 octane based on what others have dyno'd. wrx and a cobalt generally are close is weight give or take 100lbs (he did have a 2nd passenger tho, a petite girl).

It is more than that though, driver skill and power delivery play a big part. I kept dead even with a latest gen wrx that was on a cobb stage 2 plus an intake. I was trifecta gm stage 2 running super rich (~10.3 afr at wot) on the OEM gm stage 2 parts and an exhaust with 500 pounds of people in the car and the AC on.

It is the motor that comes in a certain trim. He is referring to the car it comes in over the motor code. IIRC the "LS" is a Honda/Acura trim for the Civic/Integra and it is a B series motor code

Yea, Honda talk gets pretty dumb like that. They jumble trim types and motors codes together to create some hip nickname for a hybrid motor build.

Cobalt forum motor hybrid talk:
Gen3 Block built LSJ

Honda motor hybrid talk:
Ls/vtec swap with the type r cams, si valves, h22 head, si crank


Its like the motor things they add in the better they think the motor is.
In all reality though an "LS/VTEC" is a b20 bottom end, b18 vtec head, and b16 pistons. It is a combo of dual overhead cam parts accross generations. There are other flavors, but this is the most common. Also, it is not a great option for boost lol.

actually an LS/VTEC is a B18B block from an "LS" Integra with a B18C or B16A head which has "VTEC". together they make an LS/VTEC

I am on stock Ko4 and boost spikes to 23-24 and usually holds at 22. I have CAI, catless dp, full mpx 3 inch exhaust, HKS BOV, ZZP FMIC with both side charge pipes and I believe that's it.

I don't know what his build is exactly, he's not willing to tell. Only heard from a friend of his.

If u can pass grade school and read then u would obvious know by now that I repeated myself multiple times that that civic earned my respect that night!
