F*** tail gaters..
so i was driving to work yesterday morning, not rushin or anything
the guy in front of me slams on his brakes, i start braking myself... he locked up his brakes pretty bad throwing smoke and what not, my SS stopped like a champ... unfortunately, the jackass behind me has a lame LS sedan and decided to slam on his brakes too, and since that ******** was follwing me too closely, the momentum+skid resulted in him crashing into my rear bumper....
The aftermath:
heres my car... the back bumper is all scraped up, bottom lip ripped off
heres his lame ass car...
Obviously, my car won this encounter... and the funny thing is this dumb **** is gonna try and fight it saying it was my fault... idiot

like 99% of the time that its the person from behind that takes the fault of an accident because like you said he was following to closely.

agreed gentlemen... i was so pissed too... i was about a block away from the station and this jackass made me half an hour late... the funny thing is that the cop told me that i could either do the report and the one at fault would get points on their dmv record, or settle it with only the insurance companies... i said nah just leave it to the insurance.. he went to talk to the other idiot, and when he came back to me, he said he was gonna do the report... i went to the other guy and told him your a ****** idiot theyre definatley gonna put some points on you for this and his response was "i didnt say anything like that"... goes to show you how retarded people can be

so what did he write in the report? that it was your fault that he hit you? that you diverted a larger mess with controlled breaking and assured clear distance from the guy in front of you? geez....he does'nt deserve to be driving, let alone a cobalt.

well i hit up my insurance company already.. theyre gonna send an adjuster next week at some point and from the looks of it, im gonna end up getting a new bumper and thats it... i dont think the back bumper got bent and the car drives fine.. its just a big annoyance... obviously

I know California law is that the person who did the rear-ending is at fault. Whether or not you slammed on your breaks or not if he rear-ended you, then he's at fault.
