well not to long ago my dad bought a 1971 ford f100 3/4 ton with a 390. it has a edlebrock intake manifold with a edlebrock 650 4 barrel carb, some kind of aftermarket headers and flowmasters, and a shift kit (he says). well he gets out there every day and starts tinkering with the motor to make it run better. then when he started getting everything all set right, he starts talking crap saying his truck will run with my car.blah blah blah he never wants to go because " ive been drinking" lol? so today i come home and start messing with my nitrous for a second and take it around the block and go back home. park my car and start walking inside, hes like lets run them. i ask him what the hell hes talking about, and he wants to race.

race one:
no nitrous.....i have my windows up and i get next to him, all of a sudden he takes off? i just sit there. he stops and i pull forward, i tell him to go on 3 honks. get ready and i honk once and he takes off.....******* lol but this time he keeps going and doesnt stop. turn around and line up again and i explain it very good.

i honk 1, 2, 3 and go...he has about .5 delay and then goes and i pull to about 5 cars ahead lol. he wants to go again, said he didnt hear the honk

race 2:
no nitrous..... he wants to say go, ready, set, go. right when he says go im gone and he has that delay lol, i end up spinning threw the gear and when i let off i was about 3-4 cars ahead.

he makes his excuses blah blah saying his carb isnt set right, not all 4 barrels are opening lol kinda funny. he says give him alittle more time to get the carb adjusted right.i tell him no matter what he does its still not going to change the fact i still can use my nitrous any time lol. he says im scared and a cheater if i use nitrous lol.

he calls up his friends and they start talking and they are going to swap his 650 cfm? carb for a 850 cfm one and he is sopposably get nitrous next month also (doubt it) and how they all are going to step up to put my cobalt down lol.

now for me....im going to put his ******* ford to shame, im going to whoop his ass so bad i plan on getting out and taking pictures lol, videos and never let him hear then end of this.

so i decided to push my car to the limit or beond: i just bought nitrous jets to push it up to 100 hp (at 600 psi so what maybe 75-92 whp), ngk step 2 colder plugs, and 2.4 intake manifold and soon going to get the ca header so wish me luck or hope my car still runs lol

Im no expert on Cobalts but I think 100shot would be too much for your car. I know I would definatley get a tune for it to be on the safe side. Plus you were putting 4-5 cars on him off the juice so hes going to have to make up 5cars plus what ever you would put on him with spray.

Good race though.

Please do a 75 shot. unless he has a motor swap you shall be fine. Its funny while reading that story. I figured you had an SS/SC. Go base models. Slow ass truck if you put 5 cars on him

I think you can run a 100 shot if you mess with the timming in car and some better gas.

GM performance book says 75 HP shot is max for 2.2 -- best listen to them.....

*****UPDATE*****

well my dad came in and said " lets go again this weekend"..... lol his friend is coming over to adjust timing and the carb. he said he doesnt care if i use nitrous now lol

but anyways i got the 2.4 mani and 2 step colder plugs comming in friday or saturday lol

haha, I think the last time I lost to a truck was running a V-8 Dodge Ram in my Neon. Even a base cobalt on the spray should take a truck pretty easy. Just don't get a big head and go run an SVT Lightning or Ram SRT-10,

When I first got my 400sb in my Monte Carlo my dad had a 2002 auto Corvette. I had taken my Monte to a place to have the wheels polished out so we took my dads car to pick it up. We were about 3 blocks from the place when my dads friend calls and said "hey i think i just saw Jermeys car in Little Rock" Dad tells him were close so he turns around to meet us there. We BS for about an hour there. The owner of the place is out there too. Well my dads friend says "Jermey how will this Monte do aganst a fast car?" I said what kinda fast car? and he says " your dads vette!!!". I said well im not sure this motors only been in there a little over a week and all i can tell you is its fast. My dad said "LETS LINE THEM UP!!!". My dad can never get on to me about racing in the street because he is worse than I am LOL. We pull out right in front of this bussness. The owner says GO!!! I never gave him a chance because i knew he wouldnt if he had the faster car. After around a 1/8th of a mile I let off because I had at least 8 cars on him. When I pulled back in the owner of the place gave me a Dr Pepper for winning so I think of that race everytime I get a Dr Pepper now lol. Street racing is bad!!!! BAD BAD!!!!
