As for the CAI stuff, on a Mustang GT they are all about under hood bling and nothing else. A simple K&N drop-in and snorkel removal or shortning flows just as good. When I had my 2003 GT I always thought it was funny when guys would preach about there huge CAI and MAF housing. Take a peek inside a stock upper plenum and intake inlet and it's pretty easy to see that the biggest intake in the world won't make alot of difference.

My GT was all Ford Racing and I made more power with the intake mod, cleaning up the upper plenum adding a FRPP 70mm TB and small upper plenum spacer than guys with full CAI and upper plenums.
i think this was just your little group.. bling is the farthest thing from what alot of us do...

Ummmm, What?

All of the CAI made for the Mustang are just for looks or what some ricers may call bling.

you should stop spiiting out info from "your experience" that doesn't apply to all. the s197 mustangs all see pretty good ass gains from an intake for the cost.

I can’t believe this but I’m going to have to agree with Cody on this one. The 5.0s and 4.6 2Vs just don’t see gains from the intake unless they have some serious mods on them. On the 05+ GT, yes, they are seeing some decent gains but once again they need a tune and that makes up for about 60-70% of the total power they are making, and I guess this goes the same for the 4.0 V6s like 8cd03gro said. On the older mustangs though, it’s done for looks or just to add to your “mod list” simple as that.

Now on the 07 Shelby GT500 people are gaining 80-100RWHP with a JLT intake and tune but I will say again people with just a tune are seeing 50-60RWHP with just that.
