Ford Taurus SHO vs 07 SS/SC
Mods are in my garage.
Honestly, I could not believe how fast this car was. My buddies behind me said he had black smoke pouring out of his exhaust. Maybe sprayed or blown? IDK. They come like 220 stock. It looked like an early 90's model.
I see the car following me as I am about to get on the interstate with no intentions to race, just to head home from cruising..
First race we went from a 70 kick (I know, a little fast, but I wasn't expecting it to actually be a 'race', i figured id blow him outta the water and be done with it). We both punched it at the exact same time. I put like 1/2 car on him, and that was it. Dead even til about 100mph.
Second race we went from like a 50 kick. I was in the TOP of 2nd gear. Hoping to get a jump out on him (I love 2nd gear. lol). We kicked it again at the same time. Dead even. Didn't pull any or loose any. I was VERY impressed. IDK his mods, but he had to have something done to that car, thats for sure!
Opinions?

Youre lucky you won. They can be fast a as all hell
Thats a yamaha engine in the SHO. Capable of up to 14 000. My dad had one way back when they were new and I went so fast in it I bent the winshield wipers righ back... trying to get to the beerstore before it closed.. hehehe
Best sleeper car in the world, I have seen them run boosted into the high 10's. If you see one in good shape out on the road these days chances are you're goin down :P ... lol
I say great kill

Yeah, they are no joke. I saw a video on Youtube of a stock SS/SC with exhaust and a SHO with a catless Y pipe running about dead even. This guy had to have something else done to his car!

Heheh, the shame of a sleeper.. lol
Thats why part of me almost got the 4 door sedan TC. I would have debadged the turbo, bolted/tuned and trolled.
And I agree, the sho had some toys under the hood...

Sometimes you run into healthy well driven ones that confuse you and people make threads like this. Most of the time they're beat, negected and running on 3 cylinders.

In the mid 90's I owned a 1989 taurus SHO... looked like a real piece of crap, with 150,000 miles on it..( 4-door).... but it kept up OK with my stock 1990 mustang GT, with 225 HP or something....I think the engine was Ford, only the intake and heads were made by Yamaha or something...the engine looked cool as hell... I hated to sell it for $1500... just one of those engines I imagined being hard to find years later....the problem was the tranny could not handle the power.... sound familiar???
