Got Busted! =(
Last night I went to meet some people who get together and talk about there cars and race. I went not planning on racing but a hispanic guy which I didnt know wanted too and he had a V6 Firebird newer model. I agreed and we met at a light as soon as he gave the go and I launched the police lights came on and he was directly behind me. I pulled over and the Firbird does also but decides to run at the last second. He only cloced me at 30 since he poped me immediatly. What i dont understand is after being in cuffs for an hour and questioning he lets me go home which in TX its automatic jail for racing. The officer told e the report was being writtem up and there might be a warrent sent out for me since its not ticketable only arrestable I didnt sign any papers he just took my liscense and registration like a usualy pull over I think the fleeing Firebird saved my ass but do you guys think he is bs-ing me about the futuristic warrent? I am pretty worried about it since he didnt arrest me on the spot am I free?

Tell that to ItalianJoe1, he's such a streetracing idiot. When anyone condemns his street racing he also wishes death upon them...really cool guy, I'll celebrate the day he's banned.

what are you sure? if someone gets caught going 242 MPH they generally get taken directly to jail with a huge bail set. I think anything over 20 MPH is considered a felony in most states, something like 242MPH would prolly put you in jail for a year.

thats why alot of people i know say if we know we are going to jail we either run or just do a burn out in front of the cop lol eaither way ur going to jail. they wont charge you for anything else if you do a burn out ur already going to jail they will hold only that one charge

Whats worse is he brags about it, We have all told him over the years that he shouldn't! You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it! Thats why in the last 3 years not 1 time have I went to where they race, I don't want my car taken because some1 else is being a Idiot!

It's possible that a warrant can be issued after the fact. It happens a lot. If your worried about possible jail time go speak to a lawyer and know your rights. Once the warrant is issued and your picked up it is possible for you to be remanded to jail until your court date. I've seen it here a few times for street racing cases. Being remanded can happen if it's your first offence or your 20th. It all depends on the prosecuter and the judge. More then likely you'll just get a fine... keep in mind, I'm not a lawyer, I'm a correctional officer, but I am fairly educated in the Canadian legal system which differs from your states legal system.
