Got Challanged.....what you guys think?
#26
I raced a 05 GT with a saleen supercharger on it. The guy said it put down about 450bhp on the dyno. That's about 370 whp give or take a few. We both ran 12.7 at the track. He was on street tires I think.

Did I get redirected to a Honda forum somehow?

: Thats just about your only chance unless they really suck as a driver, which could be the case.
For most Hondas that will continue to be their argument, But its a good one.

Instead of discussing the ACTUAL TOPIC (usually because they are losing the argument or they would have to admit their car/brand isn't going to win), they change the topic to something unrelated.
For instance, many times when American cars come up on Import forums and the discussion involves drag racing, you can virtually guarantee the following replies:
- Yeah, but the [American car] will break down before the end of the race!
- How could anyone even drive a car with an interior that crappy?!?!
- Pssshh... that doesn't even come CLOSE to 100hp/L N/A. What a turd!
and of course...
- Take it to the twisties and see what happens!
Not only do those arguments have NOTHING to do with the actual topic, but fairly often, they're based on ignorant assumptions from other fanboys and NOT facts.
If you want to talk about Reliability, Interiors, Engine Tech, Handling, etc... there are other forums for that. This forum (in general) and this topic are about drag racing.

ok so 04 GT with vortech?correct me if i'm wrong but i'm assuming he droped the vortech on the 4.6 2v motor?....that car is a straight dig race car i'm assuming so do a roll race an dig race and u stand a chance at the roll race seeing as how i would guess he's slower than a Terminator and the gears will hurt him higher up but IDK i'm not that knowledgable on Stangs
u need to find out if its the 2v motor or the 4v

400 hp, 400 tq. Hes not touching that mustang.
even on the std vortech, 360/370. No way in hell. Even with a tune. That GT will probly be faster than a termi.

Cobra = 371whp, 12.9@113
'01 GT = 375whp, 12.9@110
The Cobra has a little better gearing, broader powerband, and had better weather. The GT has a couple hundred lb weight advantage. Both could stand for better tires/traction and go a few tenths faster.
Pretty similar, overall.

If my friend's '03 Cobra and my '01 GT (w/ Vortech) are any indication, they're pretty similar.

well a supercharged mustang,I would say he has about an extra 200 to 250hp easily.Luckily he doesn't have a rebuilt motor, then it would be pointless to even race him. Also it doesn't really make a major difference on a tuned intake and exhaust on that mustang you raced.A supercharge mustang gt is what you have to worry about.

To the OP, you know what, if you're going to the track run him for the hell of it, who cares if you lose. Racing isn't always all about winning, it's for the sheer enjoyment of getting to gauge your car and skills against other drivers (as well as speed like a demon without fear of severe fines) and see what you end up with. As long as you haven't been **** talking (or if you have ensure your ego can handle the hit) go give it a try . As others have said unless he blows a gear, spins like mad or the car severly lets go, you don't stand much of a chance at all
