Well I don't know if this is much of a war story, but its a particular guy and car.. Ight so last year when I had my 94 Intrepid I started noticing a yellow 03 or 04 Cavalier rollin around. This thing has an outragous body kit and a huge molded Honda-type rear wing, along with some kind of goofy exhaust. Oh yeah don't forget the white splash vinyl - looks like someone came all over each side of his car. I've always wanted to mess with the kid. I was ridin around with a friend of mine and I see this guy.. as soon as the road split to 2 lanes we raced and I beat him.. Now wait a minute. Intrepid vs ricey Cavalier? Yes I **** you not, I beat this thing. He comes flyin back up with his little friends in his car wavin their middle fingers at me. I laughed and went on.

Fast forward to this year - the kid goes to my school. I'm a senior, he's a junior. The kid is a jerkoff, and not to mention that most people hate him and his car. I had to go a different way today home, so I ended up havin to follow this kid - he was parked next to me btw. He guns it onto the road and I do the same, just following him. Get around the turn and the road goes down hill for like oh half a mile or so.. the jackass keeps brake checkin me. I assumed he was tryin to have a bit of fun, but I guess not. He keeps tryin to make me rear end him - I don't even come close, some brake check. The guy then flips me the bird and keeps on goin eventually having to turn. Typical ricer, I'll run him sometime. I don't race often if at all, but the punk has to realize how slow his car is. I don't doubt I could beat him. All I have is my stock 2.2 with B&M Shift plus.. I'll run him. Although should I worry about this **** keyin my car? I'll keep an eye on things. I've heard stories about how this kid drives and how slow the car is... I'm thinkin I'll talk to this punk ass tomorrow and put him in his place.

Edit: Doesn't he have the same motor as you? Or are you an SS?

I get them all the time in the riv, but don't worry about them just park away from him, if he does key your car I usually return the favor but really big one

03+ Cavalier = L61 2.2L
Cobalt LS = L61 2.2L

If he's 5 speed he's faster than your Cobalt, though you weren't in it. So yes, gotta love that Cavy.

ya um.. same motor and like they said if he's a 5 speed he's got you... infact if he is a z24 he's closer to a 2.4 ss than you...

you seem so confident tho, it'd almost be funny to see you so cocky and lose...

let us know how it goes if you ever get up against him.

The old 2.4 in my Z24 is only 150/155 crank. So a Z24, 03+ Cavy 2.2, and Cobalt 2.2 would be a driver's race, the latter two of course having the same motor... assuming 5-speed in all.

ya i just looked up the specs was about to retract my statment i have a aquantience with a z24 that claims 190 hp which now that i've looked it up is not true and specs as you listed above...

I've seen a 2.4 Z24 5-speed with just intake take an auto 2.4 (which would make sense it's been established 2.2 5-speeds can take auto 2.4's) so in that regard you were right. I've paid no attention whatsoever to Cavalier upgrades so I'm not sure what it would take to get to either 190 bhp or whp all motor, but it'd be the same struggle 2.2's have

im pretty sure my acquaintence was just spouting off a number... but im pretty sure his is stock and that would mean he's at the same level as me pretty much.. 08 ls cobalt 148hp 152tq 2000 z24 150hp 155tq his is a 5 speed however... but supposidly alot of miles, not sure on degradation of the motor so i'd still say its a drivers race...
