well that's what i said in the gt500 vs z06 thread, but i guess this only applies to when corvettes lose. z06's are for sure real fast cars, and nobody could expect to beat that viper in anything less than a modded supercar.
D4, the viper gave the z06 quite a lead. There was a discussion on it in one of the forums and the owner commented and said the z06 did the rolling start that you saw, and he just sat there at the starting line that they were at originally until he saw the z06 step on it, then he launched. So basically that viper just ran down a car that was already doing probabl 60+ by the time he even launched and put bus lengths upon bus lengths on it. Imagine the g's that thing is putting on the driver, i cant even begin to imagine!
someone needs to get joe with his twin turbo ford gt to race a linginfelter and a twin turbo viper. that'd be literally the coolest race ever. 1400whp gt mmmmm.

There was an article in motortrend or one of those this month or last month, race to 200mph. Those vipers dont hook up until mid 4th gear, got to 200 faster than a bugatti, but they couldnt get traction thru 4th. So the lingenfelter vette, and the bugatti had it beat until 150ish, when the viper hooked and did the exact same thing you saw in this video. I really doubt it gave the vette a head start, it probably just couldnt hook, just like in the test.
How modded? We don't know. It doesn't say. It says modded. It could be intake or exhaust or something, so, whatever, 450. We don't have a clue, but nothing near 1100BHP.

basically, the hennessy viper BLOWS until about 100mph because you can't give it any gas untill like 4th gear. once you hit 4th gear though it's bye bye time.
