you don't have to be heavy to have an interior...
My car is a bit over 2800, the cobalt is around 2900, rsx is about 2700. Those are normal econobox curb weights...The GTI (3200) and he Caliber (about 3200)....are heavier ones. To try and act like that's not the case, well I dunno what to tell you
Hell an Evo 9 is about 3200...but I can live with that because AWD components DEFINITELY add to the weight of a car...but a 3200 lb FWD econobox??? Hell no, that weight is simply...unjustified

Also, the NSRT weighs 2900 lbs just like the cobalt.

and as I said, the transmission is where most the weight is coming from. Id bet if they used a lighter/crappier transmission it would weigh around 2.9-3k lbs. Honestly though, Id much rather have a 6 speed over a 5 any day.
hes just mad cuz its uglier and has a better interior + tranny.

Nooooo..... Im SURE he'd be WAY faster then that! My buddy Wanye's GTO runs a 1/4 in the low 8's! Now true it is a 1969 GTO Judge that was back halved and is running a 500 and something Pontiac Big Block with Edlebrock RAIV heads, a power glide transmission and 4.56 gears out back. That thing is NASTY! Last time I raced him I ran a 12.0 flat and he blew his engine apart and still beat me running a 10 something! Of corse I was able to both tow his car to the pits and drive mine home so I'll let you decide who the winner raelly was.

I just got owned by a GTO. Techinally I wasn't 'racing' but even had i dropped the clutch and made an effort this dudes GTO would of eaten me up. i never much cared for the GTO until last night, they sound like beasts.
any of you who have a GTO -- enjoy, i partially envy you

He was alright with it. He actually complemented me. We talked for a while, about how I miss my T/A and all. I think I took him hard like that because I boost limit 1rst gear, so I didn't spin near as bad. But he said he only has SLP Loudmouth exhaust...sounded just like my Trans Am.

I wasn't aiming that directly at you but there are alot more stories on here where bald tires are mentioned in that manner. In most cases it isn't power that balds a tire it's messing around or lack of skill which is why I hate it when people use it as an excuse for losing.
