this is gonna stir the pot
ibtl.
the LS1 GTO is faster for damn sure at the track, and there will be a huge debate about the roll races. i never raced an ls1 gto, but i lost to an ls2(by alot), and i was a good bit more modded than stage 2

So far, theres a ls1 gto with just long tube headers running 12.5's with slicks....but it's a bit of a freak...I'd say from a
Dig: GTO
Roll: Drivers race until like 100-120

slow pigs that they are. NOT. i have a 04 yj or yellowjacket 6sp stock. it is bad to say when my son had to put in around 2500$ in his srt4 just to beat my stock gto. and i have raced alot of the ss's, and they are slower than my son's srt4. now i am not bashing anyone's car. i like the ss's over the ugly srt4, it's just that you have to put so much denero into a 4 cyl turboed or not to get it to go real fast... unless it is a sti or a lancer. and they are not that fast stock... gto's are not fast cars. termi's and 06-07 vettes are, i do not get on here much, iand i do not get on here to start flameing or putting down others cars just because i drive a gto... as of now stock for stock my 04 will run s half car behind a 06 gto in the qtr. it has happened many many times at the track. and i have beat a few also. when i do get on here i like reading what you guy's have done with your cars as i had a sunfire before the goat that would rip the ash off of a dodge intrepid. it was stock just custom exhaust and was a fairly fast car. hope you guy's have fun and mod the heck out of them.

HERE! Checking in
Anyway, to the OP. If I had to choose, I would definitely go with the Goat, only because it has more potential...A LOT more.
What are your main priorities/goals with a car?
Is it gas mileage?
Is it looks?
Is it modability? (If that's even a word)
Streetability?

^^true you have too look at all the different views of the cars...
gas milage- cobalt wins
looks- honestly it can either way but IMO the cobalt looks nicer..wingless though...
Modability- GTO wins
Streetablility-lol not going there...
now I have seen an ion redline take down a 6.0 goat... but i mean hes runnin like a 2.8 or something like that... and was running crappy... (he had a slipping clutch and a clogged cat)
but i mean its all about what you want... dont ask what we like because everyone has different taste...
honestly... I say its dead even so go with what you like...

uh, yeah, i guess if you want all the problems associated with the C5 (speed sensors, turn signal switch, ect.) and you want to pay $5000 more.
Don't get me wrong, a 2001 C5 is going to be my next car, but i was just adding what kids my age like. Trans ams, and no they arn't garbage...

ROTF, that is so true, its just i got tired of getting beat by them so i had to put the spray on my lt1 just to beat bolt on ls1's, the ls1 it is a tough sun of a bitch.
Now on the other hand, i handed a 6.0L auto gto his ass, and i wasn't even spraying.

Go ls1 goat, then go aps twin turbo, build the engine somewhat, and run 15 lbs. Or sts single rear mount...which is cheaper...it's the route I want to go when I can get my hands on a gto

lol 15 psi would be something rediculous. LS1's are making near 600whp on just 8psi.
