Where this is true don't forget he's pushing over 400 HP while I have only around 350 or so. All he needs to do is get the limiter removed and I'd say its more then possible.

way to be cool.

where do you find a strip long enough to get to 180?

2.0t vs 6.0 and they both had same mods?

how much does the GTO weigh?

I LOVE turbo cars. i wish we could take the cobalt/tc back in time and freak some of them old guys out.

i was reading a review the other day on some of the new cars and what makes the most HP per leader and the 2008 LS7 Z06 does like 70hp per leader. and the cobalt SS makes 130hp per leader. with a few mods and you are looking at 155hp+per leader its amazing.

Nobody said they've actually done these things. It's all hypothetical

I hope

I apologize I just did some research and used a top speed calculator with your tranny gears rear end gears and **** like that. and if you take the electronic limiter off it can top out at 202. thats stock btw.

Again i apologize i didnt realize it was capable of that.

GTO weighs 3700-3800lbs without driver.

and it's liter.

Not only that, but you're comparing apples to oranges. Of course a turbo engine is going to have a better efficiency per liter over a naturally aspirated one.

The GTO is fine, it's the drivers that post on this forum that are turds

Meh, I think 180 is a bit more realistic.

Neck and neck in 2nd gear, shifted at 70 and started to move out, by fourth gear ~100 it was 2+ cars. We had a lot of highway I stretched it out to about 130 and by then it had gotten pretty ugly between 7-10 carlenths, once we got up passed 100 I started to run away with it. I was suprised he hung for a gear or so though.

Next was a C6, 2005 auto. We also ran from a 40 roll. This race "seemed" easier than the race vs the SS/TC only because I started moving out on him sooner. He started in gear so there was no downshift but I immediately starting yankin on him. The pull was slow and steady, from 40 to ~140 it was a 4-5 car difference. I'da taken it to 180 or so but street races just don't go that high.
Hmmmm. Looks like the locked GTO threads continue here in an ever so discrete way .

I like how SLO_SHOW is recapping on all the arguments presented in the prior locked threads and disguising it in a war story

Just because the speedometer goes up to a certain MPH doesnt mean your car can do it. There are way too many factors to determine if a car can go a certain speed, and I'm here to tell both of you, your GTO or M3 isnt going 180+.

Props where they are due.

It was at 5am on a sunday morning on I-83 north between I-695 and Cockeysville MD. Its 3 lanes wide, brand new black top, sound barriers so no Bambies to wander onto the road and it has a wide medien with double gaurd rails, and straight as an arrow! 5th gear wound out to between 175 and 180, 6th gear gave out at between 180 and the end of the speedometer. And I'm no where near done modding.

whops! liter! i was just talking about the review i saw on MSN. **** theres no replacement for displacement! Just really cool how power can be made diffrently and be way more gas efficient. I have never been a V8 guy however you have to respect them. i would take the M3 over a GTO anyday just because its a 3.2 LITER! is that M3 a small v8? or v6?

It's actually an inline six.

Horsepower is cool, but a I love a well balanced V8 that makes great torque, and has top end too!

To ANYONE who doubts weather my M will do 180+ only needs to come to Baltimore get in my car with me and go for a ride.

Besides the BONE STOCK EURO M 3's will do 300KMH which = 180+. Doubt me? Go look on M3 Forum and look around .
