Hack vs Evo X

So last night I was driving down I-81 Northbound doing maybe 10 over the limit so I was passing people, but not at a ridiculous rate. I like going over the limit because when people follow me, they stick out horribly.

Anywho, I was with my four friends, all about 160-180lbs each, full tank of gas (18.5 gallons), plus a full 5 gallon reserve tank in the trunk.

I look in my rearview and see bluish HIDs following me. I get over in the slow lane to let him pass, and he guns it and rips by me. Its a brand new EVO X, not sure whether it was a 6spd auto or 5spd manual. I take the bait and follow.

He speeds up to 90, then slows back down to 80 or so when we get to a straight 3 lane stretch without any cars. I downshift to fourth gear and get next to him (3rd gear redlines at 95ish, so I used 4th instead)

We rode side by side for a few seconds, then I see his front end lift up, so I hit the throttle. I walked him slowly at first, then pulled away faster and faster. By 135mph (top of 4th) I had pulled around 2 bus lengths from him, and I was freight training away.

I slowed down to 70mph, and he pulled up again on my drivers side, I rolled down my window, gave him a thumbs up and yelled "Nice Car!." He was a small asian kid (stereotypical), but he gave my a thumbs up and said something along the same lines. We both parted ways after that.

I figured the EVO X's had more then that in them

Our gas tanks hold 16 gallons, if you have ever put 18 in yours, well you got ripped off.

And why are you carrying a 5 gallon gas can? lol

I put 18 in mine on a weekly basis.

And I carry a 5 gallon spare in case I ever run out, or incase I ever run into someone who runs out. It's far more useful than a spare tire IMO

his car gets 0.5 mpg, so he needs the extra gas just in case he drives more than 20 miles.

According to the EPA my car gets better gas mileage then an EVO X, so I beleive that point is moot.

When you have enough torque to shift at 1500rpm and six gears on top of that (two of which are overdrive gears) it gets much better gas mileage than you might think.

17.5-17.8 gallons.

mmmmm. Gas is tastey.

Maybe hack is going through N20 withdrawl, and feels like he needs to have something flamable in his trunk. Gas is the next best alternative.
