how will i run with a 08 subaru wrx
Friend just bought a subaru wrx and i was wondering how do you guys think i will do against it. He is completly stock. I have a 06 g85 ss with a airbox mod. I think from a roll i will have him seeing how they run 14.4 at 94 mph and i will run a higher et than that. What do you guys suspect.

car and driver said 14.4 at 94mph i drove in it tonight it pulls hard down low and then has nothing. Nice car none the less just not sporty enough for me.

AWDs can launch like a mother and then like all AWDs die up top. Im speaking stock of course, they can be modded just like anyother car to be strong from a roll.
They are usally good 1/8mile cars then it goes from there.
Race him from a roll and youll take him out.

What car were you driving? The new WRX makes peak torque at 2800rpm.

More than likely he is still learning the car... and probably doesn't know the best way to launch it. If you can drive... I'd say you'll take him both dig and roll.
WRX's used to be infamous for weak tranny's and drivelines... I don't know if they changed that for 08. I hope he knows what he is doing... cause I've personally seen way too many WRX owners shred their Trannies when they didn't know what they were doing.

This one is wild speculation and rumor, but it has been said that the 08's now come with the Legacy GT transmission. The LGT tranny is much stronger than what Subaru tried to pass off as a transmission in previous years WRX's.

That would be nice if the new trannies hold up well... that is one thing that has discouraged me from buying an older WRX... guess I should just stick to the STi then!

Very nice! To be honest with you, I'd either spring for an 08 STi, or just buy a GC8 and swaparoo. Subaru's are like legos, pretty much any thing goes together.

You are right... I believe perrin (don't quote me)... upgraded turbos... and got 385 whp on one of the new 08 wrx's... definitely has the LGT tranny... sucks for me in my 06 wrx... but I plan to splurge and get an 05 sti... preferably in white!!
gonna build the hell out of it too!! FPGreen FTW!
