hyundai sonata.... wtf?!?

ok so i was coming home from st lois on the highway. this car starts kinda messing with me, its dark out and it looks kinda like a bimmer, but i cant tell. anyway, he gets the jump (no honks i had to downshift while he went) so he pulls about 3 cars and.. i cant catch him till 140. on the second race we launched pretty even, (he still got the jump) and i didnt catch him till 120. and i wasnt even pulling really hard...

anyway, come to find out, its a freakin SONATA! i was like wtf is this ****? lol. the guy (we stopped at the same gas station) said it was a rental car. it had dual exhast, not loud at all, with hubcaps. the thing literally looked like a rental car. lol. i didnt expect it to be that fast. if i was in my civic si im pretty sure i would have lost by a lot. ha.

something is wrong with your car.... That means a sonota will hang with a stock mustang GT from a roll, which I don't think is possible....Your learn down must have down syndrome or something.

I've driven a rental Sonata whenever I was carless right after flipping my G5. No ***** on them at all. I doubt that a rental place would run the 3.3 V6. Most usually go with a fleet one with the 2.4L I4.

even if my car had a problem. the thing is, that sonata got up to 140mph faster than it should have. maybe it wasnt stock but it suprized the hell out of me. my ss/tc is fine and im not a crappy driver by any means. lol. i didnt even think a car like that could go past 120mph. let alone 140.

... You might want to check for a boost leak... or pop your hood and make sure your motor is in fact still in the engine bay...

i hope you guys run across that some sonata one day. lol. theres no other way i can explain it. my cars fine. i was boosting about 13.5-14.5 psi because its pretty cold outside. doesnt feel funny or any less powerful. ive drove 2 other ss/tc and mine feels the same. he even got right next to me and punched it without me doing anything, i just wanted to see the accelaration, it looked too fast to be even a genesis coupe 3.8. ive driven one of those as well.

there was something fishy about the car... do rental companies take salvaged cars? that maybe have a diffrent engine in them?.... lol. i mean really, imagine if you came across say... a toyota yaris on the highway that could keep up with you. i wasnt shocked till i saw the wierd H badge. i thought it was a bmw.

no it didnt beat me. it just took me longer than i thought to beat him. i just looked it up, they have 250hp stock.

and for the ppl who dont read, what i said earlier, he pulled about 3-4 cars on me because he punched it and i wasnt ready at all. (5th gear, cruise control). i would have thought my civic si could have taken one out easy but not so much i think now. the second race he punched it early again (going 80) and i wasnt ready again (he didnt believe in honking i guess but w/e) he initially got a car and a half then i reeled him in and passed him around 100-110 or so. i wasnt paying too much attention to the speed. no he didnt beat me. lol.

something is horrible wrong here, it might just be a guy who is talking **** with some work (Spray/SC/Turbo for gods sake something.....) and he may just tell everyone its a rental. I have a friend from SC who does that in his 06 Impalla, (well with a single turbo setup)

2010 sonata V6's have 249hp and 229tq at the crank stock. With an auto trans I doubt that car is making even 200whp. And factor in that it weighs 3292lbs without driver.

Something is wrong with your ss/tc, OR that guy decided to put a bottle on the rental (which isn't uncommon, I've done it).
