I mean comon guys this is really getting outta hand. It's a Ws6 for christ sakes that is by no means and easy kill dig or roll for a lot of cars let alone any near stock or modded cobalt. Matter of fact I posted video's back when I first got to this site of me racing a full bolt on tuned rsx and during one of the roll races our friend in a ls1, z28 with a lid almost blew past us while in the middle of one of our races. You can see that he had to keep hitting his breaks as not to run into us since it was only a two lane road. AND he has an auto. Guy wasn't even trying. I know I'll embarrass any intake, exhaust cobalt or redline from a roll and I still can't keep up with his car after 100 from a 40 punch. And he's freakin auto.

You're in for a rude awakening when you race a real LS1 car who isnt your friend.

i think you guys are also forgeting that his clutch was slipping. AND NOT EVERY LS1 IS IN GOOD RUNNING SHAPE. this car could have been ragged out, or he could have hit the rev limiter, or he could have missed a gear. Theres a lot to think about here. Like i said before, not everyone knows how to drive. And not every ls1 is a monster. And believe me i now that ls1 are beasts, i raced my buddy in his 04 gto (which is heavier than the TA) and he beats me by 2 cars. I know how fast these cars are, and that 9 out of 10 times i am going to get beat by one. I just got lucky and beat one, and wanted to tell everyone.

You know what I'm not even trying to go after you. You've already stated that it was a street race and take it how you want to that anyhting could happen So no ones got beef with you really. You got some common sense. But to the other cobalt nutswinging noobies who think an 1s1 camaros and transams are slow, keep that **** to your self or better yet go over to the ls1 forums and set up a race with the worst driver on that site in your area and please go from a roll so theres no excuses for you. Than step on the gas sit back and watch the busses start coming out between you and the Ws6.

Hence me calling BS. Guilty by association or in this case agreeing with the wrong person and calling me and many others ******.

Stock LS1 F-Body will never trap over 110 mph. My bone stock M6 2000 Camaro SS trapped 108 and as a LS1 engine moderator and being near track rat, never seen any LS1 F-Body trapping any higher than 110 mph.

But, I understand what you are saying, LS1 WS6 will kill CSS from a dig or a roll race.

To recap...

RWD > FWD for drag racing

LS1 F-Body will kill CSS from a dig or a roll race

BTW, the 0 - 60 mph time for LS1 F-Body is ~5.0 seconds.

Did anyone else notice that he claimed to be one in which the guy claimed he had 375 HP?

Then he said that maybe it wasn't it good running order? And he said his car started to missfire? Hmm..

FWIW, an LS1 M6 will get 30+ on the highway so any ricer who wants to pull the MPG is even more of an idiot.

yes he "claimed" he had about 375 hp. But with a slipping clutch, its not going to help you much ******.

Unless the car was running on 7 cylinders theres no way you dont have the power to do it im sorry. Lets just do a little math here 9.3 X 1.57 a standard for a 1/8th mile to 1/4 mile conversion that puts you at a 14.6 just go to ls1tech.com and look at the stock 1/4 mile times almost everyone has you by a full second. Also for your info if you have ever been for a ride in a ls1 powered car you should know that 70 to 80 is a sweet spot and it pulls very hard.

Yep, saying stuff like that is really gonna make you more credible. Since none of us can prove otherwise to what you are saying, i'll say good job. You beat a WS6 that was running like crap. I wouldn't go around flaunting that. That's like saying you knocked out Mike Tyson while he had the flu and a broken arm. Find a regular Trans-Am or Z28 to race from a rool and tell us what happens. Oh, make sure the car has all 8 cylinders firing too, maybe try an racing one with an automatic so we know you are racing the "slowest" of the bunch. But even those "base" models with autos run 13.5's. Good luck!

Jon

With your current setup, you will not beat LS1 F-Body, let alone a modded one, unless motor isn't running right or driver granny shift/don't run it up to power band/half throttle/simply can't drive. If that is the case, then it isn't anything to brag about, but then everybody is different, I guess.

My 2002 Camaro SS will do 80-100mph before you can say watch this.

LS1's are all around performers from a dig or a roll they are super fast. They pull hard as hell all the way to redline.

The whole dead from a dig or slow from a roll BS is pure fiction.
