i cant believe it
tonight i went to hang out with this car group i might join, they had 2 or 3 eclipses there.... my friend has a v6 gt and always say **** about how his will smoke all of us, but he wont race. One of the eclipses was a v6 gt, but he wouldnt race, i was like wtf and they told me to race this other eclipse. they said it was a gst or gxt ( idk turbo fwd) i was like ok bring it and they said it was turboed and i said "fucccc" oh well i went anyways. 1/4 road i beat this eclipse 5 times in a row, turbo blairing and all.
i have a 2007 cobalt lt2 with pasesetter exhaust and adr wheels( dont do anything) lol
each run was about 1.5-2 cars ( he warmed his turbo up by driving around for a few minutes)
i was so suprised, he set up each race and called the "go"
i dont think it was luck because of 5 times in a row
any ideas

What year eclipse? if it was 1995-1999 2nd gen, the guy didn't know hwo to drive. Those are AWD and put out 210. If it was 2000-2004, i could see it extremely easily. Those things are heavy and not too fast at all. Driver may have been bad as well. If it was the 2005-2007, i don't know too much about those, but I know that they are also EXTREMELY heavy and all as well.

wow reading this story hearing about the v-6 ecllipses and all i was thinking the whole time you had a ss/sc. then when you said the turbod and were like fucccc what ever i figured you were a stock ss/sc. but dam a regualar balt. but i know for a fact that the new v6 eclipses are faster then the ss stock. but its a drivers race but good kill.

errrr sounds like you need to find a new group he drove around to warm up his turbo? never heard of that before last i heard you wanted cool intake temps HAHAHAHAHA, but a stock GST should have eaten you alive, either its whopped out or my best guess is the kid was a retard and didnt know how to drive. theres better clubs in TX, rule of thumb, never join a club if they substitute Z's for S's and so on
in referance to a post above, a stock 2G is faster than a stock 1G but the 1G can me made faster cheaper due to the fact that the 1G has a 14B (assuming its a 5 speed, the autos has a 13B) the 2Gs has the T-twenty slow i mean the T-25. a GST is front wheel drive, a GSX is AWD. but reguardless they should have made short order of you.

a stock 2g dsm only runs low 15's most of the time with a average driver but either way the 2g dsm you may of got the guy off the line but around 40-60 he should of started pulling b/c he wouldnt of had any more problems of turbo lag...he would of started pulling

some of those eclipses are pretty heavy... depending on his year/model/turbo he should have smoked you... he probably doesn't know how to drive worth a damn, because 2.2's run what, high 15's low 16's??
i would stay away from that car club if that's the "guy to beat"

I raced a new Eclipse when i was stock and won but not by much. His front grill was even with my front wheel. I cold here that he had a cold air but thats all i know that he had.

1g 90-91 had the big rod motors ....able to hold 450hp to the wheels....put a con filter on it,3 inch turbo exhaust,mbc,550cc injectors,maf-t or some other tuning stuff, clutch,16g turbo,bigger i/c and u got a low 12 second monster....

Yeah, stock 1st gens with the 14b are pretty f'in quick.... I've had 2 1st Gens, and 1 2nd gen DSM's in life... that is what made me want this car! They are pretty equally matched to us (SS/SC's!)!!!
