I was wondering this. A bunch of my friends went and were really dissapointed when it got rained out. Maybe I'll go next week if they all go again.

I've lost a few street races(in Mexico) in my life but this was horrible. My car is an 08 with almost full bolt-on's making 318whp and 366wtq on a dynojet.
Tonight I was riding down to the local dragstrip which got rained out by the time I got there. I met up with a few friends for dinner and proceded to head home. On my way home I see a pack of HID headlights off in the distance and was hoping for some cars to play with...it was 4 honda civic hatchbacks and one slow accord riced out.
Up first was a grey honda civic hatch with a black hood, roll bar, and no front bumper. He slowed down to pace me but wouldnt go or look over. I did three honks and took off from a 60mph roll in third. The next thing I hear is death on wheels when the Civic spooled up No bullshitting I got out a good 3-4 car lengths before he even moved...he started spinning and had some severe torque steer. By 100mph he was past me and by 120 he was an unreal amount ahead. I'd say he past me with a good 20+mph on me...my guess it was an easy mid 130 trap speed car.
After my brother and I were stunned we lined up against a black hatch with pink rims, roll bar, and all kinds of gauges. I tried a 60mph roll again and he jumped the gun alittle bit...and he just kept on pulling away. By 120mph he had 3 cars on me and we shut it down. My guess, 115-118mph trap speed car.
Once all the racing was over everyone went back to crusing in a single file order with me holding up the rear. My exit was coming up so I sped up and gave em thumbs up and they all returned the gesture. Fun times but damn I hate losing like that

an old friend of mine had a civic like that.. I know nothing about civics so dont ask specifics about the engine.. but I went to the strip with him and that thing was a BEAST.. barely street legal cause if he wasnt running slicks he could barely get traction.. When he had is rigged for show and had his 18 in wheels on I could rape his car with my old Z24 but when he had slicks or something with some traction.. that thing was insane..

**** happens, I have a few buddies w/400-450+whp & they will **** all over me once traction is obtained.
I am at 317whp 349tq dynojet & they make me look like an economy car
I do know they have a **** load of time & money into their cars so it only makes sense for them to be faster.
I actually like getting beat, just means that person has more time, better platform, deeper pockets, or just a better driver.

I had a '91 Si hatch that was gutted (no carpet, no radio, etc) with a 10 point cage, B16 swap, GSR tranny, ZDYNE ECU, etc. etc.....weighed in just south of 1900 lbs without me in it.
Side note...I loved that car and swore that if I found it again, I would buy it back in a heart beat....Just found out last weekend it was totalled beyond recognition

^^Those cars can be addictive. They're so easy to make fast and they're fun to drive. I sold mine to someone in another town so I wouldn't be tempted haha. Honda is going the way of Toyota these days though, all their cars are heavy and they don't really have anything tuner friendly anymore.
