I know I'm gonna get called BS on this one!!
Anyway, I took out my 'Balt out tonight for the first time in weeks - second time in the last 2 months because I don't drive it in the winter. Minding my own business and a late model M3 pulls up beside me. I didn't pay him much attention other than I was hoping I was the one who was on HIS driver's seat (nice machine!!). Anyway, he takes off on me a couple of times to instigate me. The thing took off like a bullet from a roll so who was I kidding thinking I would even attempt to give into him. I turn left onto Highway 7 and I thought that was the end of our little playtime. I was wrong!!!
He follows me and does a ricer flyby - the only thing is, he's not driving rice. I catch up to him and we're doing 80 clicks and I'm in third. He hits it and pulls on me immediately. I thought he would walk me for a few cars but I had the pedal pinned and never lost sight of his side mirror. When he shifted into 5th I was still at 6500 rpm in 4th and kept her going to 7200 rpm when we both shut down. He tried two more times with the same result. I was very impressed that my car kept up. I think the guy was pissed and I hope he's found a new respect for Chevy's!!

same here but not till like 120 in 4th then i can creep away but not much. 1st second third dead even. advantage M3 when im in my third gear for some reason. I have 262 whp but the guy teling the story's got a lot more TQ than me. I belive his story

i didnt read responses but i believe you... only because i have raced an m3 myself and ended up on the winning end.. i to thought it was a joke but i genuily out drove him.. im not sure of year but it was the 4 door and id stab in the dark with around a 97' model year. i would know immediately upon seeing a pic

I rolled with an m3 from about 60 to 100 (mph) the other night, and I have to say that I thought the M3 was stronger than it was. We were pretty much bumper to bumper the whole way. The second pull I got on the gas a bit early (very rice, I know) and kept the half car I jumped the whole way. Another BMW owner dissappointed a little chevy can hang.
From a dig I know I'd get smoked though, so our cars are definitely NOT M3 killers.
