You can't take too much of what the GTO guys on here to serious. Most don't know what thier cars can do so they make up stuff or quote others. It is kinda sickening actualy.

So why couldn't a car with less power win? I've raced cars with more power then mine and won. And it wasnt because they couldn't drive or anything like that. Theres a lot more that goes into it then just power.

hmm.. think about this for a second right not every car is the same so to say car a will always need 270 whp to beat car is not valid becuase what if the car does not put out as much hp as other guys.

i have not read the past 20x billion pages ... just started on the last page and saw this... please tell me you are not saying a ss/sc can not beat a lt1 z28... if so.. your mistaking badly... my roomy has a 94/95 lt1.. and i would be more then happy to show you me clown stomping his ass into the ground

Well if you would have read a couple more up you would know it was just an example.
But since you bring it up stock vs stock a LT1 will beat a SS/SC. I had two of them and ran low 14's al day long with quite a few 13.9's and 14.0's.

As a GTO/COBALT owner I am not here to say that my LS1 will beat this and that. In fact, I think my cobalt was faster, and still think it was faster, even after modding. However I do like my GTO more, whether it's faster or not. What gets me are the FEW people who get on here and say unlikely stuff like they beat and LS2 with their Stage 2, etc. I guarantee you a lot of people may think I am racing them in my GTO because it is so damn loud, and I think some other car owners get their hopes up thinking they won because they went through an intersection full throttle and I was driving normal.

When I had my Cobalt I was stomping on the majority of Z28's and Transams. with your typical Mullet Mods like K&N and FLOWMASTERS. I was beat by a few, but I would say 4/5 times I would win. And these are LS1s we are talking about. The LT1's are more of a warmup than a race. Obviously some can be modded to this and that, but seriously......most LT1's are just trying to keep the wheels on, and the headliner from sagging.
