Intake Ain't Cuttin' It Anymore...

So I've had my car since the end of March, and I've had a lot of fun with it. Been in plenty of good match-ups, surprised a lot of people. The main mod I have is an AEM Intake (I like the whine lol) because I dont have much $$$ to mod. Over the past 2 days, I've been beaten by cars that I SHOULD have been able to take. Let me elaborate:

Friday night, my buddy comes up beside me in a 2002-03 Maxima with his friend driving. He asked if I wanted to run, so we dropped, honked, and took off from like a 40 roll in 2nd. The Maxima stuck right with me and actually started to pull when he shifted. I backed off and at the next light asked what he had. It was the body style before they changed to the bubble, but with the 3.5 and the 6speed. He also had headers and an intake. so we go out and go from a dig, he walks me by 3 cars and then it holds to about 120. From a 40 roll again, about 1 1/2 cars and holds.

Saturday night, a guy with a 2000 Mustang GT wanted to run. He's got like dump exhaust, intake, intake plenum, and a few other things. From a dig, he got about 1 1/2 to 2 cars. From a 20 roll, about 1-1 1/2 cars.

The ironic thing was the guy with the Maxima is a master Tech for GM. He told me to come find him when I wanted to get the stage kit and he'd get me a discount and install it for me. Looks like I'll be saving up and callin him pretty soon...

from a dig, the mustang should have taken you like it did. those mazimas are pretty quick, but i don't know if he should have taken you. that mustang probably runs mid-high thirteens tho if he has 4.1's with all those mods, so don't worry about it

That's good...makes me feel a little better. I think my clutch is starting to go too, so that may have had something to do with it also. If the Max was a 3.0, it should have been all me, but that 3.5 is crazy, like 280hp+ with a 6speed and I/H. He def. surprised me.

the 3.5 is either 250 or 265 hp depending on the year. the six speed cars will run a 0-60 just under 6 seconds if they're driven right... the thing is, being a decent sized engine with too many gears, it's a lot of torque.

if it makes you feel better, it's still an old lady's car.

LMAO The next time I see ol' granny sprinting around town in a 6 Speed Maxima, I'll be sure to remember that...

there is a 55 year old woman that lives down the street from me that drives a stick terminator. it kinda makes me want to cry sometimes how a middle aged woman drives a mid 12 sec car and probably has no idea. LOL.
