List of the fallen...

Man these things are NASTY on the highway, top end for days and people just CAN NOT hang

1st race was vs my buddy's 04 Matrix XRS-Turbo. It's a car that I built and tuned, GT28RS turbo! Here is a vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rvS3AOJ0D8

We ran a few times on the highway from 70ish. Every race it was back and forth, as we started it was pretty even, I hit 5K rpm and picked up pulling away slightly. He then hit Lift and began to pull back. I would no-lift and he would shift, again I would make a gap, he would hit Lift and pull it back. Not til around 125-130 did I start to actually make a gap that he couldn't gain back!

2nd race was post wedding after a night of **** talking by another groomsman. He has a SRT4 - Stg2 and nothing otherwise. Again we headed to the highway and it started from 65 this time. Another great race, it was pretty even only pulling maybe a half a car per gear! Once I hit 5th tho, it really was all over for him!!! I heard they have the same trans?? Maybe diff gearing? Regardless, this was another good race up til that 125-130 point, the SS just drops the speedo from there FAST! And away I went

The next couple are people that just don't realize what a new SS has

1st in this series was a 1.8T GTI, no clue on mods or year. It sounded like it had a muffler delete or a catless turbo-back! It spit and gargled and amplified under boost like a straight exhaust. I figured this would be a good run...WRONG! It was over as soon as it started. We slowed to about 60 and he honked it even..As soon as it started the pulling began like mad, I no-lifted to 4h and was WAY gone when I looked back!

2nd is a C5 vette, middle aged man that I'm sure assumed he could take a 4 banger easy. Well..he couldn't have been more wrong! We were cruising about 75-80, I was keeping pace. He then downshifts and tries to take off on me, I dropped quickly and mashed on it! I pulled the 2 mybe 3 car gap he made, no-lift shift and made the pass! The gap grew and grew. He did the famous...NOT going to pull up on the side after that, I don't care if you slow down to 25 LOL!!!!!! Love those

There's a couple more, but I don't want to sound like I'm a "street racer". I'm an avid drag racer and occasional auto-crosser.

It put down 248whp on spring pressure. They can't break into the 14's N/A...I ran 13.9 on streets in that car. Check around for some vids of them w/bolt ons, they are GOD awful slow! 180hp stock and doesnt make that until 6400! With this setup it made 248whp and 205wtq flat!

What are your mods? Pulling a C5 by 5+ lengths is pretty impressive you must be trapping over 110mph.

Same motor as the Celica GTS and I've seen GTS' in the 13's with bolt ons and a tune. Really surprised he cant get into the 13's with his turbo setup.

Maybe the Vette let off when I pulled up to him when he took off? I really can't say for sure. The car seemed bone stock and it was a mid aged gentleman, don't know if any of that matters. None the less, I have no reason to make stuff up

And the Matrix did get into the 13's Celica's are a bit lighter then the Matrix and the 02's also have a lower Lift point which really changes the acceleration aspects!!! Waiting for Lift in between shifts N/A seems like forever and the later year the Matrix, the later the Lift point. The 06-07's are at 6800! Seriously, check Youtube and you will see they are NOT impressive at all w/bolt ons. I tune a lot of Matrix's as I'm a main member on MatrixOwners (I have a 03 XR-Turbo), so I'm very familiar with what they are capable of. I'd also like to mention, that I'm not a pro...I build this stuff in my garage on the floor with handtools! Just to complete these projects and have fun with them is enough for my friends and I. We're not looking to take over the tuning world, just looking to have fun with it His Matrix was built to look like a stock car also, not built for all out performance, which is why we went with the GT28RS and not a GT30 or something similar..

(Piping routed under the engine, only looks like a CAI when you open the hood!)(That cat-back was removed if anyone is looking at that )

(Blacked out FMIC, BOV hidden in the fender well etc..)

(yes, I do custom fiberglass as well )

My Matrix for the hell of it :p

ha sweet I used to have a vibe!

Well you still have to remember that its a 1.8l so even with a turbo it can get faster but not insane. Also the 2zz has high compression to start with. Man I love "lift", for a NA car that 2zz is amazing. Theres a reason they put it in lotus's

I raced a vette convert in my ms3 and whooped him so idk whats up with some vettes..maybe it is a driver mod? maybe they swapped in a v6

Why do you keep talking about the matrix like we give a ****, all we want to know is what you are putting down in your COBALT SS TURBO!

So your SS/TC makes 250WHP and you pulled a C5 by 5 lengths.

Sorry but bullshit.

And your stock SS/TC makes more power than your Matrix, and your stock SS/TC would get raped by a c5 Vette.
