Ok, so a guy that I work with has a Shelby Mustang GT with an automatic. It is an 07 or an 08? I dunno not important, anyways... He says to me that his car will run 118 in a 1/4 mile with drag radials. Now he has a whipple blower on it ($8k, by the way, or so he says) and some bfg drags. I said I don't think so. So he promptly pulls up a video where he is at a 1/4 mile. He launches with all his might, manually shifts through the slushbox, and managers to wring out a 109 1//4 mile at just under 13 seconds. So I chuckle and say dude it was a 109, thats not that fast. Now he wants to race me... I'm hoping to have my new tires next week. If I get them its on and I will definitely be videoing that for all the world to see.

I will gents, I will... I have beaten faster stangs from a roll. I'll give him a roll and a dig, I don't care. I'm not to bad at launching anyways. He only rolls a 60ft .5 seconds faster than me. If he wants to win he best be doing it better than that.

Sorry but this will not end well for you. The Whipple packs for those GT's with the 3.5'' pulley will make mid to upper 400'swhp. He's a horrible shifter to trap 109 in that car. Run him from a dig and you might get him, from a roll though, just hope he doesn't leave it in auto mode.
Be careful man, tell him ya wanna run twice and don't go all out the first time to gauge what his car will do. If you beat him while not even trying then earn some money off the guy.

I think the main reason he didn't run that well is that he doesn't have half of the mod list that black beast has there. He is running the canned Whipple tune and has a K&N and a catback. He just blew his trans at a road course... Guess that thing didn't like to be held in a gear and get all frothed up coming into a corner downshifting. After it gets redone we will throw down. I keep telling him to get a custom dyno tune on it. It would be beastly if it was a more aggressive tune. Plus my dyno numbers are pretty decent in and of themselves. I am going to be getting my new clutch installed in a few weeks too, no more clutch slipping when doing hard pulls yay! The dynojet graph there on the black one shows just a shade over 450lbs/trq and mine should be around 400. I am not thinking that I am going to put buses on him, I am hoping to get him by about half a car... trq to weight ratio on a AT weighing about 3600lbs at 450 to the wheels is .125 lbs of torque per lb of car... mine is about at .13lbs of torque per lb of car with mine at 3000lbs so it should be close... his damn auto shifts quick as the dickens though so that is going to be a biznatch for sure.

Only time will tell I suppose. I have already hung with one SC'd Mustang but like I said, I'm not really looking to rape him just going to try and hang with him. If he does beat me it won't be by a whole lot, the way his car is tuned and set up right now is really conservative. Watching his drag videos I'm not really impressed. If he had a good dyno tune done he would totally destroy me. I think he is running the whipple kit without a heat exchanger anyways. According to whipple it will pump out "nearly 415whp" If he had the HO 4.6L SC kit he would take me for shizzle.

I don't have a good camera to put in a mount.
He is, I have seen it. He is not running a heat exchanger, that means he is still around the same power as a new 5.0 Mustang. Or at least he wasn't running one when I was looking at it. I'm not sure if he has upgraded the kit to the High Output kit yet, he hasn't driven it to work in quiet some time, since he overheated his trans.

QUOTE=Shibito;5615850]He's an idiot to not be running a H/E with a Whipple![/QUOTE]
Yea I know. He was bitching about heat soak at the drags one day. I told him to go get a better heat exchanger... he said what heat exchanger... I said
I would think he was running the HO kit and a good tune with full bolt ons. Also remember, here in cali we only have 91 octane fuel. Which blows dogs for quarters on a F/I motor. Out here on most stock engines you are only able to run like 7lbs of boost MAX
