A LS1 GTO with a very good tune with LongTubes and a fine driver could hit 12's on street tires.

A tune that simply removes or reduces TM/TR on a LS2 makes them scream. With TM/TR off a good driver should see 12's with ease in a LS2.

I never logged my LS1's TM/TR but I would assume it's not as aggressive as the LS2 but still a hamper on faster times.

I ran a 5.7 GTO (20MPH roll in first for both cars both manual) It was neck and neck through first and second, third I was with him then got a CEL for missfire on cyl 4. Sold the car after I fixed the problem (improper gap on plug) so I dunno how it would do now.

The 6-speed LS1 GTO is more likely to do it than the A4. Remember even the LS2 GTO A4 with 330-335 rwhp needs a great night to even approach 12's. Most of them will hit only low 13's on a good night. The A4's on average dyno 10-25 rwhp lower than a 6spd and we're heavier.

Was that race on Stage 2??

Stock vs stock / Auto vs M6 GTO is a close competition in the 1/4 from a roll thats a different story. Also the wieght difference is so little that it won't affect the outcome alone.

Yeah it's close from a stop because the 6spds are harder to launch but by 3rd gear the 6-speed really starts to take control. They put down more power on average. That's why a well driven LS1 GTO 6spd will trap 104-106 on a good night while the A4 will trap 100-103.

Well I helped a fellow GTO owner out today. He is my friend...Didn't know it was him though when I was watching him spin like crazy...Saw a poor helpless GTO stranded on some ice just spinning in front of my house. Grabbed the salt and some rubber floor mats and BAM. Turned out it was my friend but obviously even if it wasn't, I still would've done the same thing.

Point of this post was to stop some of the bickering....even though you will probably all bicker at me for posting a pointless post

I didn't say you didn't but alot of people don't know about the difference between the GTO A4 and 6spd so I was posting for everybody to see.

Not to be a dick but I hope you have more mods since you ran the time in your sig becuase there is no way in hell youll hit 12s with a 102 trap speed unless you 60' like a 1.6.

I was running 12.9 with a 2.0-2.1 60' with a 109 trap speed.



Also what happened to CodyBS did he get banned or something?

your not being a dick. I do have more mods set up.

theres a thread about it called "12s?"

my mods since the time in my sig are:

Cobra H/E
S2 axles
Slicks
Engine + tranny mounts
Midlength zzp header/downpipe
and some room to move on my tune (conservative 11.0 a/f atm)

I dont expect 12s easily, but i feel that ill be knockin on the door

I am still here regulating the true BS, really though who cares?

If I can convince klugsrt-4 to take a 10 hour trip with me I will have a nice 2007 Corvette Z51 sitting where my GTO is.

I got a little out of hand smack talking and codyss was banned.

As for the codybs thing please lay off.

I know we have had our at the others throat moments but there is no way even you can say stuff here hasn't gone to hell. I loved my SS/SC for what it was but at the same time after having LS1's I knew what it would and wouldn't beat.

Kids these days seem to have forgotten what good ole V8 power has to offer. I just got tired of being nice.

Like I always said is me saying my GTO runs 13.0 BS nope, anyone running better will take me.
