i raced a 5.7 GTO the other night and hung in better then that was at his rear bumper at 110
i have a cai header/down pipe and a custom tune w/ a 7k redline the race was from 40
edit: we stopped at 110 but he was def starting to pull away pretty quickly. im thinking it was an auto bc it was even till about 90-95

Ok my 5.7GTO story. We went from a 20MPH roll, both in first gear. Neither of us had traction till 3rd gear. My mods were Stage 2, Stage colder plugs. He was bone stock. So were dead even in the start of 3rd, I granny shifted, he doesnt let off the gas when he clutches. My mistake in not doing the same. I had baaaad wheel hop till 3rd, he was screeching the tires till 3rd. So bout 80MPH I get a flashing check engine light, which I left off instantly and by then he was gone. Check engine light was for Cylinder 4s plug gap being way off due to a long story. Anyway, I was dead even with a first year 5.7GTO 6 speed from 20 to 70-80 till I got a check engine light. Personally I think he would have started pulling on me through third anyway despite my check engine light. Anyone can say what they want, I dont really care. The guy in the GTO is a very good stick driver, but he doesnt own the GTO its his friend, so given I was a so so driver in my own car, hes a very good driver in our friends car.

No.. its been proven a GTO > S2 balt with a decent to bad driver...
if you happen to be super_ss who has just a stage 2.. and beats GTO's then you are a good driver
get the facts right
