Me Vs. 1.8t Gti.....gti Ftw..
Well i really dont know where to start... except WOW IM IMPRESSED...
ok ill start
my buddy just bought a 20th an vw rabbit gti 1.8t.. its fully loaded.. a very nice car the guy who owned the car b4 did some modding to it.. he put a bypass plate in at the exaust. where you hit the switch and its strait off the cat exaust then you hit the switch again and it goes back to being a normal exaust.. witch was really cool because the car sounded like a total monster when he hit the switch.. well anywho he calls me and ask me if i wan to race for money.. he knowing i only have a 2.2l knew he would crush me.." he wanted to beat me because i owned him when he had his honda.."
so i respond sure but not for cash ..for fun
he said sure..
so we went down to a back road thats out by my house " maybe 4 people drive down the road everyday...and its a strait up 2 mile stretch of fresh paved road.."
we line up from a 40 role and 3 beeps i stick with him up till 50ish and then he slammed into his next gear and pulled instantly we both shut down and he had about 5 cars on me
we did the same thing again and it was about the same outcome..
then we went from the dig i pulled a half a car off the line then he slammed in to second gear and caught traction and pulled away like 4 cars we cut off at 75-80ish
i was really impressed with it he says he is running 210 at the wheel.. i dont know if thats truth he tends to lie alot..

Not that surprised...my brother has one...I assumed he's chipped 210whp would sound about right....from factory they only run like 9lbs of boost...chipped...they double the boost....obviously they gain a huge amount of power doing that. Good for mid-low 14's...problem is they're intercoolers are really small...so after a couple really hard runs they have serious heat soak. Good run none the less

so ur saying i should have ran him a few more times and i might have stuck with him better ... lol
yeah dude u should have ran against him ... lol
this guy just bought the car its way faster then the mark 3 and alot nicer inside and out
if i had the choice i would supercharge my balt... still waiting for tuning software

maybe......
After my brother chipped his...I drove it around for awhile.....almost drove just like the srt4....nothing but serious amounts of torque.....lots of tire spin and crazy amounts of torque steer. With a supercharger....that would be a good race......now if tuning would come out sometime this decade that would be nice.
