my buddy has a decently modded 05 gti - it has ( quote from my buddies IM )
"mark has, boost controller usuallt set to 14 psi when he races(all the small turbo can take) plem spacer, CAI, turbo back exhuast, motor and tranny mounts, full sus like you, b an m short throw, i think he is putting the front mount back on when the turbo gets done "
I have stage 2 + aem cai, 2.9", dual pass intercooler endplage, TTR solid motor mounts
on an 07 ss/sc G85
wondering how i will fare here as well, either way it comes down to just racing, just trying to get an idea of what to expect theoretically

Watch out for moded 07/07s with the 2.0t and the 6speed they are alomost as fast stock to stock SS/SC>GTI If they get a 400dollar tune from APR they will blow your doors off
About 220whp and 280wtq And if they have stage 2 you will need at least stage 2 to be even and even then they might rape you till 80 then you will catch up.
A good friend of mine has one i was very supprised.

A 2002 GTI just chipped Dynoed at 233 whp and 255 torq, I dont think so. Anyways, a friend at work has a chipped 2006 VW GTI 2.0T. Its pretty quick and beat me when I was stock. GM stage II now = him in my mirrors and getting further away with each second. Good luck...

DSG is faster than the 6speed. It has been proven. If the 2.0t gti is stock it's a driver's race. I used to race my friend all the time, from a roll it was usually me in front by a car, then i'd just keep pulling. If you go from a dig, if you can launch you shall beat him pretty well. They just can't keep up. stock vs stock. If he's chipped then you'll lose for sure.

As i said, there were other mods as well...Try searching the VW forums to see what the maximum amt of HP can be obtained from the stock K03 Turbo...

Here's a list of the mods that were on the gti

GIAC X Chip
CAI
FMIC
Custom 3" Catback w/ hi flo cat
Boost Controller
N75 Valve
Forge Diverter Valve

Also, the Dyno was done on Race gas

There is only 1 tune I know of that puts numbers out like that and that is the EIP flash which some regard as unsafe. Either way, no flash is yeilding that kind of gain. APR Stage 2 or REVO stage 2 with Full TBE and an intake(bah) are puting 235-250 whp and roughly 275 wtq. I own a 2.0T GLI(180 lbs heavier than GTI, stupid trunk) and it is quick, just a tad slower than my stock RL was. Either way, the SS/SC should take him with drivers equal. A 91 oct chip will put him out in front without a doubt, also the 2.0T is slightly underrated as a lot of cars are these days, dynoing 190 whp and 205-10 wtq stock.

Ahh, ok that would make alot more sense. Most force induction cars with better air flow and a good tune gain a decent ammount of hp and torq.

I couldn't agree more. Its amazing what a tune does for a force induction car. Those VWs respond well once chipped.
