I would not go there cause we can also talk about how GM has kept the corvette running strong since 1953( sounds like 56 years of not missing a beat to me) LOL

How much is the new ZR1, 100k+? And the c6 Z06 was in the mid 70's. Yeah they're faster than the GT500, but you can get a GT500 for mid 30's.

first i was not refering to power or bang for the buck. second ya you can find a USED GT500 for mid 30's, You can also find a USED c6 Z06 for high 30's. I was just telling you dont say ford is the only one out of the 2 that has had a car steady for X amount of time. I was just making sure you dont forget that the corvette has been around for longer with out a break in service. Dont take this as a personal attack, its just some friendly debate.

I understand that, but you cant put a Mustang and a Corvette in the same category. A Corvette is more of a Sports car than a Muscle car, and the price difference is way different for a new one. Mustang vs. Camaro is just about as fair as you can get, although the Camaro is most of the time faster, but it's more expensive.

Go, for it. I don't know the answer but I don't THINK they have missed a year for the Mustang in general.
Yes, thats why I said production.
Not as a limited run/etc. There was no Vette avaliable to the public in 83.

u cant compare the gt500 and z06 or zr1. the gt500 will never be on the same level as the z06 or zr1. the fact they left an almost identical suspension that was on the gt and added 200hp to it is just stupidity. the z06/zr1 handle amazing and both do 11.7 stock or better.

Agreed, yes camaro is more expensive. the only reason i brought in the vette is cause i was defending the GM comment you made LOL. Im a loyal GM customer. However if it came down to it and i had to choose between a new camaro ss or a saleen s281, hands down i would totally take the saleen. I test drove one of those and all i had to say to the salesman was " I NEED A TOWEL!"

Yes however production means they were produced. the 83 vette was produced, just never sold. They do have the only 1 left on display at the national corvette museum. and no you are correct mustang has not missed a year, however the 2nd gen was made and recalled cause it was not to designers standard. But they still made itout with the revised ones with that years title( i believe it was 1973).

They usually have a better inventory than they do now. Evo's, STI's, Srt's, etc

Who cares how it handles, are you at the auto-x track everyday? More people drag race than anything, and I dont think people wanna pay way more money just to say that their car handles better. Like somebody already said, you rather have a S/C'ed GT over a built 5.4L that with a simple bolt on KB or turbo you have an easy 700-800whp??

Here's some interesting numbers based on MotorTrend
0-100mph
2010 GT500 9.7SSec
427R 11sec
Skidpad
2010 GT500 .92g
427R .92g
Braking
2010 GT500 109ft
427R 111ft
MT Figure Eight :
2010 GT500 25.3sec @.75g
427R 25.5 sec @.75g

427R 111ft

2010 GT500 25.3sec @.75g
427R 25.5 sec @.75g
(Oh, BTW, it's ROUSH... not RoushE or RousCh, etc.)
That being said, Roush claims that with the 18" wheels (the car MT tested had the optional 20's), the car can pull 1.02g.
Either way, though, the point is that the GT500 doesn't handle "horribly"... and the Roush 427R starts $10k higher with an inferior engine.

1. That wasn't a '10 GT500
2. There are multiple blatantly false statements in that episode (and others), so their credibility is questionable. Basically, it's made for *entertainment* first, legitimate information second.
EDIT:
Let me be clear... I'm not saying that the Roush DOESN'T handle better than the GT500... even the '10... but the '10 GT500s don't handle "horrible", and if the Roush doesn't have the right wheel/tire setup, it looks like they are pretty similar in handling capability.
