Me vs. Lancer?
So my buddy has a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS and apparently it's pretty quick. I haven't seen him WOT or anything but I am thinking of racing him. I looked up his cars specs. and it has 168 crank hp to my 171 crank hp. So we are pretty close there. He has the (think this is the proper term) tip-tronic gearbox and I got stick. It's a stock vs stock race. What would the outcome be?

everyone has to lose every once in a while. Racing for a guaranteed win is the pointless part. Just race, have some fun, and in the end.... who cares win or lose! You aren't racing for money and he's your buddy anyways

My friend has the exact same car, its not all that quick, and the tip-tronic bit is garbage, its a CVT and no matter what the computer is still "shifting" for you

Haha, I raced my buddy's LS1 f-body when I first got my car, (couldn't drive it at all and bone stock) He had 285's in the rear, bolt ons and an automatic.. We raced from a dig and he just barely beat me. He's been talking **** for almost 2 years about it now
Moral of the story, just do it, it's all in good fun.

Stock your car will do about mid 15 sec 1/4 mile. Since the lancer is a automatic I'd say you'll win destroy him since hes cvt tranny those goes 8.5-9 sec 0-60 so their freakin slow. The manual however is 7.3-7.5 acording to motor trend.

ha found this little bit of info
2010 Lancer GTS 1/4 mile times
Ť on: June 26, 2010, 09:54:16 PM ť
I went to the track today with some firends and they talked me into running my lancer. Its a 2010 GTS with the CVT and the only "performance" mod is a greddy se so its basically stock. Also this track is like the worst one around it actually goes uphill slightly so everyones times are always a bit slower at this place. (All runs were in sport mode)
My times were:
16.899 @ 81.23 mph Lost to Mustang GT by 2.0336 sec.
17.059 @ 80.94 mph Won agaisnt V6 Mustang by 1.4108 sec.
17.056 @ 81.08 mph Won agianst Mustang Cobra R by 0.6543 sec. (guy did not know how to drive it lol!)
16.990 @ 80.79 mph Lost to new Camero SS by 3.5885 sec.
looks like ill win

Sure, according to paper you should win. But here's why these threads are pointless.
No one knows how you drive. No one knows how he drives. No one ill know if you of he will miss a shift. No one will know if you'll launch right and get good traction.
So yea, just race. That's the only way to know, not asking a bunch of people on the internet.
