Me vs Silverado SS
Well Friday morning when we got off work me and a few co-workers decided to go get some breakfast. We decided to go get Shoney's Breakfast bar, in which the easiest route is taking I-75 for about 13 miles instead of going all the way thru Gainesville from Alachua.
So about 2 minutes into the journey one of my buddy's decided to play some in his bone stock 1.6l SOHC Civic. All 106 ground thumping ponies... It was more or less just ***** and giggles. We played for about 5 miles or so. He was in the far left lane and I was running the middle. Well all a sudden something comes flying up beside me on the right. I look over and see a huge SS logo right in my window. Its a big blue (or maybe black it was still a little dark) Silverado SS. Very nice trucks also I have to say.
He revs it a few times and takes off. He pulls about 2 cars then lets off and drops back to me again. He revs again so I know he wants to run. We slow down to about 60mph and he just stomps it. No honks or anything. So I threw it in 3rd and stomped it. I caught him and put about 3 lengths on him by the end of 3rd gear. My poor buddy in his Civic is like half a mile back now! Not sure what was done to it, but it sounded awesome.

Yea they are awesome trucks. They are AWD so even with that big V8 its gotta be tough to push all 4 wheels going that fast. My buddy has a scion tC which is around 15 flat. He raced an SS Silverado (exhaust) from a roll to about 110 and was able to stay within a car lenght. I thing from a Dig those things are sick. Nice Run!

BZZZZZZZT!!!!! Oh I'm sorry thats incorrect! But you do get a nice parting gift, Johny tell em what they won.
Not ALL Silverado SS's are AWD, GM DOES in fact make a RWD version that is cheaper and faster, watch out cause they don't go easy.

Launched in 2003, the Silverado SS is a high-performance pickup truck built by Chevrolet. It is based on the standard 1500 Silverado, with upgrades in drive train and both exterior and interior appearance. It uses the 6.0 liter Vortec High-Output V8 rated at 345 hp (257 kW) at 5200 rpm and 380 ftˇlbf (515 Nˇm) of torque at 4000 rpm. This was the same engine used for the second generation Cadillac Escalade. Chevrolet and GMC advertise this engine as the "VortecMAX", while Cadillac calls it the "HO 6000". The SS debuted with a standard All Wheel Drive setup, but was later changed to the current Rear Wheel Drive only format. The Silverado SS also comes with the Z60 performance suspension and 20 in (508 mm) chrome wheels. In 2006, Chevrolet released a special edition Silverado SS under the name "Intimidator SS" (licensed by Dale Earnhardt Inc.) that came with several minor appearance upgrades, but left the bulk of the truck the same.
Its not yet known if GM will build A GMT900 Silverado SS.
