There was a Ford mag somewhere that ran 12.9's with an ls1 ss and a t/a when they thought the 1st car was a ringer lol.

You know what...nevermind. You can't be saved.

A head+cam LS1 has an unmistakable sound, any video should be able to clarify this. Still waiting for response as to whether it was LT or LS

No way it was an LS1... I raced multiple LS1's since all my friends have one it seems.

lets see... bolt on's without longtubes or tune auto, 40 roll me stock I won

LS1 Auto T/A, cam, bolt ons, long tubes, stall, gm heads and gm intake but better than factory.... I got my ass handed to me by like 4 cars quickly and gave up (after tune he put out 408whp)

210,000 mile LS1 6 spd manual, cold air intake, catback, 4.10's, and nothing else... can keep up with my trifecta tuned cobalt from a roll ( i win , but its close)

and video comparison against a less powerful LS1 than O/P supposedly raced

Actually stock to stock from a roll race they are not... Plus the Stock SS LS1 with intake and exhaust was alot easier to beat than a LS3 SS

stock ls3s have done quicker ETs and faster traps than stock ls1s by quite a bit actually. I've seen a bone stock one trap a hair under 112.

ragtimes has them pretty much dead equal. Both can be high 12's with a great driver, most putting times in the low-mid 13's though

Well you have to remember the ls1 came out 13 years ago. There is a hell of a lot bigger sample size. Last time I checked, the fastest ls3 time was a 12.5x.

im sorry op im calling bs . i had a h/c gto which is heavier than a f-body . And it would walk the dog on a stock lnf . Head and cam ls1 anything can be 11s in the quarter (meaning f-body , gto , vette ) if you were tuned it could be beliveable but with learn down you mods mean nothing to very little .

....

I hope this is a joke,13-14 years later its still one of the fastest most potent motors around.

If LS1s were slow they wouldnt be tucked into everything from Porche 944's and RX7's to foxbodies and old muscle cars.

yeah its a pretty long smooth turn on the local highway by my house. 378. my brother wont take the turn at 100 in his T/A lol but RWD is a diff story. he just hit 30k miles, he doesnt want to wreck something thats pretty much still mint condition. doesnt even put 5k miles on in a year lol think hes planning on keeping it forever since its not DD. cobalt is definetly more predictable on how its going to react. his T/A in the other hand... scares the **** out of me lol

Well I think the fastest recorded LS3 was in a Corvette that laid down an 11.7x

I've watched a stock LT1 T/A with 5 people in it take a 45 degree turn at 75-80 with no tire squealing at all. You just have to be comfortable with the car.

Stock suspension on f-bodies leaves a lot to be desired. The car is too soft and has too much body flex. However, its sad that most people build them for drag because properly setup they can actually be pretty damn good. I love turns and am willing to sacrifice a few tenths in order to corner.

Same here, I don't care to have an all out drag car.

same. im going both-ish. fatty tires in rear, driveline setup with enough strength to take 5kRPM clutch dumps, but a canyon based spring/strut/shock/sway bar setup as well
