my '06 ss/sc vs '08 R32
Ok, first off sorry i dont have a vid, the race just happened. But anyways on to the good stuff
So im driving home from morning errands, and get on the highway like normal. Im cruising at 70 and this R32 comes up beside me and just starts the 3 honks and i throw it into 3rd, then (surprising as hell to me) i leave him like its nothing. Dont know the guy or the car, but mine only has injen CAI, cat back, stage 2clutch, and some minor weight reduction. I expected to get raped since his is AWD and stock 250hp.maybe my cars faster than i thought? Lol

Its just a guess on the year. I looked it up, cuz the badge on the car said r32, newer body style but more sleek than just a gti. I think 2008 was the last time they made the r32, now its just "R", i googled it as soon as i got home cuz something about it doesnt seem right. I know he got on it cuz i could hear his engine and exhaust, maybe he missed a gear? Not sure, im kinda dumbfounded by the whole thing

If im not mistaken in 2008 the switched to the gt-r not just the r and were a 3.8 v6 pushing 480ish hp. It's also I believe considered a R38. I've seen someone around here turn a grandam into a imitation skyline.

He is thinking Nissan gtr, it's a Volkswagen the OP is talking about. They are heavy and take some boost to really wake them up from what I have seen. Good kill anyway.

Yeah, im thinking the guy didnt know how to drive or something, cuz one of my friends with an ss also has a newer gti, exact same mods on the gti as i have on the balt (except cclutcch) and we did a highwarun and were damn near the same. So im surprised i beat the same car that has awd and more power. THATS why im dumbfounded haha

they only made them in DSG (auto trans) so it is highly doubtful that he missed a gear. Why are you so surprised? Contrary to how they look, they are very heavy cars at about 3500 pounds . Plus they only make about 200whp in stock form which is about what a stock ss/sc makes. So making no more power and weighing quite a lot more this outcome was logical.

A lightly modded GTi would walk all over an R32 from a roll.
But good kill

The r32s did come in 6speed manuals, not just dsg's, so it was possible to miss a gear.
Regardless if it was a true r32 it should've had a dual exhaust outlet in the middle of the back bumper. Easiest way to tell if its a true r32, next to badging if any. It's still awd and from a roll kind of falls on its face.
Good kill though!

Nice kill. I remember coming home from that ZZP meet earlier this Spring and got into it with a boosted '04 R32. Walked him pretty bad but it was fun. There were two of them and the turbo one's driver was pretty pissed. I was fully bolted on E47 at the time.
Still believe they have the BEST exhaust note of any car hands down though...
