my ss/sc vs. bmw 335i
hey guys so today my buddy and i go down to carmax and the ferrari dealership to look at cars and on the way home a 335i was in front of me which was the reason we went look at cars cause my buddy wants one but neways....he is in front of me turning left onto the highway so i pass him and get to about 70mph and then he catches me real quick so i take off and he takes off and nobody pulled hard on ne1 he was catching lil by lil cause we were at such a high speed start but it was a hood he wouldve put me on if that....i was shocked i thought they wouldve been a hell of a lot faster then that i was actually disappointed in that race from the bmw idk bout u guys but i love me cobalt....

i dont know what cheap drugs they are giving out on this form but the cobalt doesnt come clos to the new 335, it runs 5.6 0-60 vs 6.4 for ours, and it runs 13.6 in the quarter vs. 14.5. I dont know what u mean by close but if both drivers are on it then sorry to say but our balts get dusted, we are door to door with 328i mt not 335 TWIN TURBO. From a dig or a roll or a high speed start= we lose bad. Even with stage 2 intake and exhaust most cars on this ste wont even hit 13.7 check the nubers.

As the the 0-60 and 1/4 times, AWD will always launch far better than FWD and even RWD. The SS/SC has massive launch traction problems. Look at trap speeds. Compare their 5-70 or 30-100 times instead.

Who cares what Car and Driver say the car can do!
MAGAZINE RACING IS GAY!!!
It does 13.6 with a pro behind the wheel and I bet he didn't do 13.6 everytime and definitly not the first time.
Magazine racing is stupid, anything can happen on the street.
Maybe the BMW driver never raced his car before, maybe he was in the wrong gear, maybe he had alot of wieght in the car, maybe he had some **** gas and was making less power. Really anything can happen on the street, I've beaten 350Z 's and a new S4 and I'm stock. On paper both of those cars dust me but in reality I was the better driver!

Its limited to 130 mph!
Thats the reason he was able to hang with it! LMAO! 130mph and big brother takes over. Not unless its a performance pkg car. Heres a link to its teck specs.

And you are correct it is only RWD from the BMW tech specs I saw.

A 335 is no joke. Magazines don't have "pros" behind the wheel and they do *not* power shift the car. Hell, one of the slowest times out of the testers is Edmunds and they got a 13.3 @ 105.9. A stock one was dynoed and it put out 265 RWHP and it does not weigh all that much, only 3,500 lbs.

Sorry, I didn't look deep enough myself. Someone said earlier that the car was AWD and I didn't research it myself. What I was trying to point out is that the power difference isn't as massive as he was saying, especially when you remember that the SS/SC is a whole lot lighter.

Was that directed at me? *sigh* I've had a long day and I'm perfectly willing to trade insults, but I figured I would try to be nice and find out for sure.

to all you lsj doubter's.. i have raced a new 335i.. along with a neuspeed chipped gti with a few basic bolt on's.. we were all trying to mess around on the freeway form 70 up.. the closest race was the new neuspeed chipped gti with no revlimit and 20lb's+ of boost(was only able to get a fender on him, the beamer got smoked from 70 up).. and for the retard who is spouting out 0 to 6 and quarter mile times.. it was from a roll. or do you not know how to read.. i have an 07 ion redline comp pack stage 2 with a few goodies..and to the idiot who think's its AWD.. unless its an x type beamer its RWD...as in 330ix=AWD 330i=RWD.

I called and talked to a bmw tech last summer when i was looking on pickin up a 328... the tech i was talking to said in americas models of the bmws out of the factory they are just suppose to have an ungodly 0 to 60 and tht a lot of them are stopped near 130mph.... I dont know if he was telling the truth...

335's dyno almost 300 horsepower to the wheels. They were intentionally underrated from the factory to keep there power numbers lower then the M3 until the V8 M3 comes out.
