well i was shocked i was thinking i was going to get blown out of the water cause of all the talk thats been going on bout these cars and i was disappointed in the bmw 335i
and our cars should be able to run with 330ci's with and exhaust as my two buddies have done it....one with the 330ci and my other one with ss/sc with just cora catback and they are about dead even ....and it just depends on who gets the better shifts in the race
ps.. i was dynoed @260whp before rebuild of my blown motor

I believe it...I have a 07 GTI, APR stage 2 tune, turboback, and intake and I took one with a catback by a car. Can't say bad driver either because it was Eurocode Tuning's test car for developing the exhaust, and the head tech was driving the 335 (he drives a 450awhp S4). Oh and I consistently lose to my friend with a SS/SC with GM Stage 2, 2.8, airbox mod, and some exhaust work.

Before you say something like that, you should probably know what *you* are talking about. The 335 is not, and has never been AWD.
A 335 is no joke. Magazines don't have "pros" behind the wheel and they do *not* power shift the car. Hell, one of the slowest times out of the testers is Edmunds and they got a 13.3 @ 105.9. A stock one was dynoed and it put out 265 RWHP and it does not weigh all that much, only 3,500 lbs.

Finally someone who knows what there talking about, and to clear the record im not putting our cobalts down i bought one didnt eye im being realistic, our cars do not compare to a 335i in any way shape or form. We would run all day long with a 328i, and if it was auto then we win. But to sum it up it doesnt really matter if the bmw was a 30 second quarter mile its still a beemer and were just a chevy its like comparing Orange juice to Orange drink
and if u look at quarter mile times in magazines it doesnt matter if it is a pro or not C/D uses the same five or six testers so the same guy who tested the beemer could of been the one to ttest the sssc and they got 13.5 in the beemer and 14.4 in our car if u think this is "close" ur crazy one second in the quarter equals absolute embarresment. and if u think a roll will improve our chances think again the bmw has either a 6spd m/t or a 6/7spd auto.
Plus there cars have good fit and finish and beautiful interiors and then well theres our cars where there are more gaps than a british person teeth and there are so many squeks and rattles u think the thing could fall apart at any time

Pull up Dragtimes.com and take a look at the 335i. Average of their top 3 stock 335i's gives you ~273whp, ~282w torque, a 13.446 quarter @ 103.843mph, with a 60' time of 1.911.
Yes you can make sick power with it, but stock it's power to weight ratio isn't that different from the SS/SC. What it does have is traction at launch, thus allowing it to have about .4 seconds quicker 60' time and it's gearing appears to help it at lower speeds. However, its speed advantage shrink at the higher speeds.
What we have been saying is stock to stock, the SS/SC can hang from a mid speed roll. However, I totally agree that from a dig the SS/SC would get eaten alive. That lack of traction kills it.
Oh yea, Rob's time is still the fastest Cobalt SS/SC on Dragtimes! Woop!

i was out that way wednesday picking up my new 328i! after i test drove the 328 and the 335, the salesman was like "it's fast, isn't it?" i was like "it's quick..." he says "it's faster than an 04 mustang", to which my obvious reply was "not my 04". i didn't get the BMW for speed, which most people really don't that are looking for a 3 series (unless it's an M3). i got it cause it's comfortable to drive. it's like driving a sofa.

Thank you for pointing out that you have *NO* idea what your talking about. The 335i is engine rated for 300hp. That means that after drivetrain loss from the AWD it only has slightly more power at the wheels. Plus it weighs more than the Cobalt.
As the the 0-60 and 1/4 times, AWD will always launch far better than FWD and even RWD. The SS/SC has massive launch traction problems. Look at trap speeds. Compare their 5-70 or 30-100 times instead.

I guess ur a moron too because there is no AWD 335 yet, it would be rwd............moron
