Either way, I couldn't possibly care less about a fancy interior. When I see a nice interior in a performance car, I think "added weight". That's not to say I don't appreciate a comfortable, well-sorted interior, but it's far from a priority for most performance-car buyers.

Which also brings us back to the part where I said a well driven GTO will catch a poorly driven GT500 which is very common since the owner is usually over 50.

Sorry noob but a 2004 GTO is a drivers race vs Mach1, and this is straight from a Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords article. And we all know who drives for those guys right so it was equal drivers in both cars.

have you even been to a ford lot to see the prices or does your ******* have shelby gt's on the lot? cause that seems to be where that price came from. the shelby GT is very low 30's. like 30-31. and its 19 more hp. it also has the frpp performance handling package. then it gets the shelby treatment for body and interior. all it really did was take the place of the bullit/mach1 in the lineup.

your 2.4 cobalt couldnt even keep up with a 4.6L GT, let alone a GT500
GTO has 3.46:1 gearing
I own a GTO, and have the best time over on LS2GTO.com for a stock 05-06. Which is not a 12.7, it is a 12.8
The 03-04 Cobra is still slightly faster stock, and the Cobra has the gearing advantage 3.55 in the Cobra vs 3.46 in the GTO.
I owned an 03 Cobra before my GTO's, and I went 12.52 in it bone stock.

But I have to agree with cody, based on numbers, on the street...they really aren't that far off...VERY easily a drivers race.

A cobra weighs 3600lb and 370rwhp is on the lower side of the cobra stock dyno numbers. A stock cobra has trapped as high as 113 with 111-112 being the norm. Even people off ls1tech say machs are equal to a stock fbody. First you say that your car can keep up with GT500's now it can only keep up with cobras maybe tommorow it will only be SN197 Mustang GT's.

I know the Mach1 is a close competitor but more so for a LS1 GTO than LS1 F-Body. When even a Ford magazine that every Mustang fanboy reads agrees I think I am closer to right.
Maybe if you took a 2004 Mach1 out and raced a 1998 Z28 with 2.73's you might come up even.
And tryit exactly what kind of car do you drive, and do you only talk to a bunch of dumbasses?
