Put a whupping down on a V6 Mustang
Hi Folks -
First kill worth reporting with the SS/SC -
This kid that lives down the street has a late 90's mustang with a V6 and he has done some sort of intake mod and possibly an exhaust mod (but he has a history of being a chronic liar....).
He has told my wife several times that his mustang can hang with Z06 corvettes ( ) on the highway.
Last night on the way home in the Cobalt, guess who I see riding my butt?
I get stopped at a 4 way stop and he is right behind me - rural area- no traffic.
I rolled across the intersection to give him time to stop but he just rolled across like he was glued to my ass.
Anyway - I though I would see how the little SS/SC fared against such "scary" competition.
I pulled about a football field on him and shut down at 100mph. I actually was able to keep from hitting the rev limiter - I only have about 400 miles in the car and it is so quiet inside that I have a hard time hearing when to shift. whupped him good!
I can't wait to hear what his story is.
best regards -

Hi Blainestang -
thanks man -
I was kinda wondering how the SS would do against the V6 stang - thought it would be closer (considering the guy said he had modded it...)
thanks again - nice Bullet BTW....

Based on the times that both the cars run, the V6 Mustang really shouldn't be anywhere near an SS/SC. Given excellent driving, a 5-speed 99-04 V6 Mustang could run low 15's, and an 05+ could run high 14's. However, even with excellent driving, that's not enough to take out an SS/SC, obviously.
On the other hand, both cars would give an N/A SS a good run assuming similar driving skill.
Oh, and thanks for the compliments on the Bullitt.
Again, nice kill. Sometimes you've got to put those Z06-killing V6 Mustangs in their place.

Nice run, I really hate the six-bangers that talk ****. I especially hate the ones converted to dual exhaust with Cobra badges
Oh, I get 25mpg and will hopefully run mid 13s when I get to a 1/4, based on my 1000' times. Last Cobalt SS/SC I raced was 1.3355 behind.....with my gf taping it in the passenger seat, and a full tank of gas.
