I dont care to do 210 mph in a car, that is small as heck on the inside. If I wanna do that, I will buy a bike. I upgraded my brakes and it stops on a dime. I like the roominess of my cobra. I hate getting in my brothers Trans Am, its so small on the inside. I feel claustrophobic. Vettes are fast I will grant you that. I am not saying there not, its just the price tag on them. They have become an exotic car. And seeing as its the only sports car chevy has out right now, its a little stupid to price them so high.

i agree whole heartedly with that statement, but since when can a stock z06 do 210? Besides that, you have no idea what kind of suspension or brakes his cobra has. He could very well destroy a z06 around the track, you just don't know.

I will have to agree with you on that, LOL. But I didnt know Z06's could hit 210mph.

This is why i hate it when people say the z06 or zr1 is a better car than say an f430 or a gran tursimo...yea you might be faster, but when the day comes that i'd choose any vette over an f430 or gran turismo i want one of you to blow my head off.

The top speed numbers GM publish are limited speeds.

The base C6 is rated at 186mph which was true back in 2005 when it had the A4. With the A6 they can do 192mph and a Z51 M6 can do 194mph thanks to it's specific transmission gearing. The Z06 is rated at 198mph but will do 205mph (210 was a typo) and the ZR1 is limited to 205mph but is gearlimited at 215mph. The ZR1 is also the only one that tops out in sixth rather than fifth also.

Not all people care about that **** though, just like not all people care about dragracing.

I'm like him I don't care about turning, I don't care about top speed, and am not really into breaking. As long as it can turn and stop like a normal car and go through the traps without hitting the rev limitter I'm happy.

There is nothing wrong with having a car like that though just not everyone needs or wants it.

I know if I had a Z06 I would never take turns hard in it, I would beat the **** out of it on a smooth, straight road. Hence the reason why my GT suits my needs perfectly.

I'm in the same exact boat you're in. I dont wanna risk taking turns fast and I hardly ever drive on the interstate so going 200+ doesnt suit me, hell going 100+ doesnt suit me unless I'm driving down the 1/4 mile. And neither one of my cars will ever see the road course.

lol I have out ran the local pd a few times a long time ago, I just not much into doing things on the street, there is too many people out and its not worth killing someone on accident. Id rather take it to the track.

You were the one who said you had XXX amount in your car and it was faster than a Z06 and cheaper. When you buy a C6 you are buying more than straightline so when you spend less on something else and make it faster thats all you have. Weither or not you top a Z06 out or track it has nothing to do with it.

The fact that it was built to do that does.

We were talking about track racing not cornering and braking. And yes I know at the track I can pull a ten sec pass, And that is gonna beat a zo6. The zo6 is a very fast car, but it does also have alot bigger motor and is alot more expensive. Yes you get alot more, but with a expensive price.
