Well considering the G8 has already done that, I don't think it should be too bad for the Camaro. Plus, you get 2 more seats. The 370Z is a damn nice car tho.

In my opinion the 98-02 F-Bodies are the last GM car that wasn't a Vette that was really impressive. Like the GTO the new Camaro may have a little sumtin, sumtin under the hood but it to is overweight.
The well they are "modern muscle cars" argument some use is funny. Sorry but cars like the new Camaro, Challenger, Mustang are being sold with horsepower as the main feature. But If I owned one and got passed up by a 360hp Nissan I would struggle to come up with a term for all show no go too.

the g8 has run 12's stock? i have a very hard time believing that...4,000 lbs 362hp and an automatic running 12's? doubtful... The z's are quick. almost 3k flat on the weight side and over 300hp makes for a quick car. There are other imports coming with smaller displacement n/a motors and rwd that will be fast, along with forced induction awd/rwd platforms and ****.

Heres just a little food for thought when it comes to cars like the accord:
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html
Like I said beforethe last thing I wanna do is see a V6 import hang with a american V8 but look at those numbers.
It took a quite a few passes in my LS1 F-Bodies and my GTO to hit even a 12.9 with a awesome 60ft and spot on shifting. The G8's auto may be nice but it also has much more TM/TR and with 360hp and weighing 4000lbs 12's isn't happening.
If he adjusts his story to say it was a GXP I might belive it, maybe.

I assume he does, but misunderstood. He's right tho, most of the import n/a 6's are pretty much at their limit as far as any bolt ons would go, but a few can handle a lot of power with boost.

If I actually bought a new Accord or Altima, I would only want it for a turbo, LOL. Wonder what a new Accord would do with a turbo, I'll never know personally but I'm sure someone has done it.

I'm not sure if the altima has the vq35hr, but the hr can handle near 600whp in stock form as far as known right now, maybe more. the altima and maxima can be equipped with a vq35, but im not sure which one.

the 2007-2008 350z's. the previous version was the de and while they're both 3.5 liter sixes, the HR is 80% new. I wasn't interested in them at all, then a kid in one of my classes brought his in to install some high flow cats and intakes and i helped him. I was impressed with how it performed compared to my expectations. Felt like a solid low 13 second car with those two modifications. He wants me to tune it for him, but i have to look into the software/hardware available. It runs pretty lean, so i think we could definitely make a 12 second car out of it with a street tune, intakes, high flow cats and maybe cat backs.

the g37 already has the vhr, the same motor that will go into the 370z. They see ~320rwhp with bolt ons/tune. The 370z is gonna weigh in around 3100 lbs. It's gonna be a nice setup.

I think it was a site like this that threw me off:
http://jalopnik.com/375060/pontiac-g...?autoplay=true
But I still don't think the 370z will be THAT much faster than the G8, if it even is. And comparing them is dumb anyway, not many people are going to cross-shop a large 4-door Pontiac sedan and a Nissan 2-seater.

Sorry guys, I thought I had seen a stock G8 run very high 12s (12.99), but I guess I was mistaken or maybe it was just modded and I thought it was stock. But to be fair, I partially misread cakeeater's post and thought he said low 13s or high 12s.

hmm.. i started a nice convo. I give the import V6's props. They cant do much more NA than the way they come, but they usually have great flowing heads and make really great FI cars. the downside is they usually have pretty high compression ratios so you'll probably have to swap pistons if you want to run a lot of boost. Regardless, i have respect for them, but i still love our V8s more
