As a Mustang owner/junkie, I will agree with some of the comments being made here (cakeeater and some others).
If it is an earlier NA cobra it will be close, but if it is an 03-04 cobra, its over. They may be heavy but they sure can move. My mustang runs in the high 10's, but at Englishtown raceway I have had some seemingly stock cobras give me a run for the money. Never assume how fast they are until you have had a good look under the hood.
On a similar note, I want to point out that a 17 year old with any cobra is nuts (insurance must be insane) and if you are going to race, take it to a track. Dont be one of these street racing idiots who is trying to relive the fast and the furious in their backyard. At a track you can have a time slip and know exactly once and for all who has the quicker vehicle.

hey man like the camaro...my buddies got an almost identical 99 z28...he has a fully built 6.0 with a direct port 200 shot..nice car though
