Totally true on that distracted driver ****. I don't want to take any of my old cars out, because invariably when I do, some dipwad is texting in the lane next to me, and drifting over the line. I'm bothered about getting t-boned by the jackasses, but I'm much more concerned when my boys are riding with me.

not worth it, the amount of money you have to throw at a z/g to make them fast is stupid. 8k for a decent turbo kit, 10-15k to build the motor correctly, then 5k or so to do all supporting mods, to have 400whp done right.
id rather spend 6k on the whole setup for the cobalt and have 700whp

off topic - Has anyone ever seen a modded 370 in person? Sure i see modded 350s (most all still slow, even the "600hp" one" but to this day i have never seen a modded 370 even at the track.
What gives?

not sure man, we have plenty that go out to buttonwillow and the california speedway here in southern california, most of them just lightly modded to be able to take track duty with things such as oil coolers and better brake pads, lines and brake fluid. not many choose to go the turbo or supercharged route with them just for the fact that like was said earlier, it takes a crapload of money to go turbo or SC on one. stillen does make a CARB legal SC kit that can be had for under $6k, but from what i've heard the tune they give you with it is crap and that $6k doesnt include installation either. owning one myself i have to say it does handle very well and did pretty well stock in keeping up with a turbo balt on the twisties, but have to hand it to chevy when it came to the SS/TC...they were definitely going in the right direction, just wish they would have kept going that direction instead of chasing after MPG's
