That vette is pretty beastly. I know one around here that could slit its throat though. I like to old fox body stangs. They are pretty light weight if I remember correctly.

That extra hundred HP the GT500 had obviously just wasn't enough to overcome the weight difference. The other thing I'm wondering is whether or not the GT500 was able to go WOT the whole time or not. My guess is that he was pedaling the hell out of it to stay planted. Those Vettes are much better balanced and hook extremely well, even with that much power (much better than a GT500 anyway). I think I'd still rather have the GT500, even though its slower in some cases. To me, its a more entertaining vehicle. I've driven C6s, and to me they feel numb, way too refined. Anyway, good find OP.

Cobras are about what 3750-3800lbs? Seems like they hook up better than GT500s. I see Cobras pull pretty good 60s most weekends on street tires, in the 1.8-2.0 range with the guys that come out every weekend. Granted, I hardly ever see the same gt500 out there twice, they all seem to have major traction issues on street radials. Talking about pre 2011 GT500s.

A lot of people don't take their expensive cars to the track. As prices come down you'll see more and more Shelby's out there.
Shelby has about 150-200lbs more on it then a Cobra.

Sorry Shibito I meant that it seems like the Cobra has an easier time hooking up not necessarily weight difference. Cause there are videos of GT500's racing Cobras with roughly the same amount of horsepower but the Cobra just seems a lot faster.
Here is a vid of a Cobra with less horsepower pulling on a GT500. That is kind of my point that a Cobra can make less power but pull on that GT 500.

I'm also not sure if Shelby's can run as wide a tire as a Cobra. I'll have to check on that.
