This guy sounds like he knows what he is talking and even has a nice organized list, the truth is he has not a single clue.
1. They have 5 speed autos. And are not horrible.
2. Paddle shifters??? Seriously, making up stuff wasn't even cool in 1st grade.
3. Wow that is huge range for a governor
4. Was he talking on the phone?
5. http://kansascityvca.com/srt8/srt8dchart.jpg
damn, look at the horsepower just drop off after 5k

I'm one of the unlucky ones who's still trying to compensate for my slow car with my Big *****. It's not as effective as you would think.

I raced an srt8 out at the track last week.
his best ET of the night was better than me.
but the time I raced him i beat him by 1/10th
was a great race and we bullshitted for a while in the pits afterwards cuz close runs like that are the funnest for sure.
Anythings possible.
If you dont assume john force is driving the other car.
which is what everyone does when calling BS.

I have beaten 4 SRT-8's, so I know it is totally possible.
2 - 300 SRT-8
1 - Charger SRT-8
1 - Grand Cherokee SRT-8
They are fast, and not every cobalt out there can beat them, so there are doubters out there. No doubt, we have a better chance from a roll, as I have put about a car length on each of them from a roll, and it is a HARD race. And from a dig at Speedworld I only beat a 300 SRT-8 by less than 0.1sec.

I don't know what ALL SRT-8's are running at Speedworld, but they looked to only be hitting high 13's the night they had a big SRT meet. I was hitting 14.0X that night at 105.5 - 106.0Xmph. And Outside temps were a healthy ~105* at 11pm!
Yeah, Speedworld has gone a little downhill, now they are worse off then Firebird most nights I have been there. And the track volunteers have an Ego bigger than the Staypuff Marshmallow Man.

You should call that next Mustang Jell-o...LOL
As for Speedworld that's sad to hear. Traction was better than anything I've ever seen when I went (this was back in November). Guess I'll have to hit up Firebird instead if it's as bad as you say. Palmdale (LACR) is closing out here so there goes one more 1/4 mile track. Going to miss that track even if it does suck.
Palmdale is about 2700 feet and weather like you guys in Pheonix. DA is usually 4500 feet or higher. There I've seen a 300C run a 13.9 with exhaust...ran a 13.8 when he took his air filter out. So sounds like conditions up there were like they are at Palmdale normally. My 12.4 goes up to a 12.9 with a 2.087 60' at Palmdale. (which would be about a 12.7 with that 1.994 60' I got at Speedworld).
Makes me really want to run into a SRT-8 sometime soon.

I love mine and it's fun to play with. Next time I head out to AZ I should let you know and we can meet up at Speedworld or Firebird. Maybe I'll bring slicks and use them this time...shoot for 11s. LOL

because they are only good from a dig. Don't you get it. V8's run out of steam once you get passed second gear. All that torque helps theme get off the line but then they just choke at high rpm's plus they are heavy ass bricks. light fwd 4 clyinder is the way to go for top end. Duh!

i was on the 3 lane bridge between Ottawa and Gatineau going around 70 kph, a white 300c srt-8 showed up right beside me. we went from around 70-75 to 180 kph (i think he got owned by the cutoff.). i had 3 car in front of him went he started slowing down, we were 3in the car. with a trunk full of camping chair and 72 beer....
the 300 c str-8 got a 6.1L V-8 producing 420 HP. still a big fat car. suposed to be a hight 13 sec car and weight 4160 pounds.
i dont know how many ppls he had in the car. the windows was dark like a cow ass. the only thing i saw was 2 lcd panel in the back of the front seats :P he had the stock 20" wheel.

Everyone is forgetting a few facts.
1. SRT-8 whether its a Magnum, Charger, 300C or Jeep have 4 speed autos. Great dig cars, horrible roll cars. The gearing sucks for a roll not to mention it takes a few seconds for the auto to kick down a gear.
2. Paddle shifting does not do ****, keep it in D. You are not going to gain an advantage with the paddle shifter from a roll except looking stupid when you ding it off the redline.
3. SRT-8 has a 120-130mph govenor, poof bitch be gone.
4. The SRT-8 Charger I raced from a 45 roll lost steam at 85 and about 100 I was two cars ahead of him by then.
5. It loses any power in it's power band after 5k RPM.
6. Those who actually hit 12's in any SRT-8 needed absolute mint conditions to hit that. I've only seen very few factory freaks in the 12's. That's a fact. It's also a fact most only run a mid 13 most of the time (driver error I guess, not sure what's so hard about launching an auto) . Those countless supposed thousands of cars that did hit 12's did on drag radials, intake and exhaust not to mention sea level heights and cooler weather.

Wow! A white SRT8...too bad they only come in black, red, and silver huh?
Nice try though!
Was this a joke? Or were you actually serious? Google is your friend.

Are you guys serious? Is this a real website? Please - No Cobalt SS POS is going to have any kind of race with ANY SRT-8 - period. I call "Super Shenanigans" on this poser - I mean poster. Even the 300C HEMI will pull (from any velocity) from a little rice-burner wannabe.
