im not going to call bs on this thread cause the race looked pretty tight.. props to both cars....

but im still going to have to say its all in the tune. im sure a stage 2 balt with bolt on's and a proper tune can keep up with an ss/tc.. or possibly edge aahead

anyway all our races are like that. (before methanol /w no passengers). Better than seeing the ss/sc's getting raped by turbos all the time.
You are running off the scale rich if you never touched the fueling side, when i added my meth kit without adjusting the fueling i was off the wideband rich..like in the 9's a/f wise...get it tuned right and redo the race, this time with the camera guy in the other car, you will pull him with those changes...however its scary that it takes that much mods to pull a new ss/tc..

I dunno how much a difference between an SS sedan and a coupe is...but I beat my buddy's T/C sedan from a 40 roll by about a car.. But, I have custom tune.

i'm not sure if this helps

ss/sc mods are: 42s, 2.8, h/e, injen CAI, vibrant header, hiflow dp, and gmp exhaust, 24 degrees of timing, denatured alcohol 50/50(timing is tuned, not the fuel map)

Wow i cant believe the ss/tc kept up with u with ur mods. Dead even. But the ss/sc sounds way better than the ss/tc. Awesome race. But i still think u should take him.

A passenger makes a hell of a difference. Racing my friend's SRT-8 Jeep, going passengerless made a 3 to 4 car difference for me.

Good race... I can't wait to butt rape my first SS/TC, hopefully he's stock.

was the TC brake boosting? utilizing no lift shift?

Sounded like both of you were on the money when you were shifting, no missed gears but I heard what sounded like a 2 pause on the shift to 4th.

It sounds like the TC is using No-Lift Shift... if you listen closely, you can here the pops.

Both driver's were right on the money... otherwise it would have been a back and forth race.

That's a good race period. I'd kill for a close race like that... those are the best.

Nice close race...I've raced one from a dig and beat him by ~3 cars....maybe a little less. Those things are pretty quick stock. Definitely not a car to try and play around with. Can't wait for more things to start coming out for them.

yea, but no stage 2? This means he doesnt have the smaller belt?

The strongest SS/SC's typically start with the stage 2 tune, and work from there. Ive heard stage 2 without pulley and as many bolt ons keeping up. This is why Im wondering if he has the tune or not.

this is what Im saying. Seems like its not running as strong as it should? Maybe a bad tune?

race him with a passenger in your car and him not have one.

btw when we were both /w out a passenger before methanol id win til 100 then he would blow past me. (on average)

Stage 2 was long time ago. My tune was fine during that race short of the 10s AFR (i didnt pull as well during 2nd). Was running 24-26 degrees of timing throughout the entire RPM band. Yes, i have the stage 2 belt.

i have hptuners, i think i know what im doing. It is a different story when we are both passengerless.

this is not fine^^

2nd gear is the sweet spot for the SS/SC. If you cant pull ahead in 2nd, you wont pull ahead.

Hmmm, I think you should go to 60's with ~11.2 AFR.

im running 11.8 now, as i did before methanol
i was running 21 degrees of timing with the 2.8 and 42s... hitting 93% IDC@ 7000 rpm
its now in the 80s with the alcohol tune.
