SS/SC vs. '10 Sentra SE-R Spev V

My friends SS/SC with intake, header, downpipe and exhaust vs. My Brothers 2010 SE-R Spec V.

It was my brothers first time racing so he didn't really understand it too well. Also the guy with the Cobalt is frustrating to start races with. He's pretty paranoid.

I really think with a proper race the Sentra might take it.

shortest race ever?

btw if a spec v beats you, thats like losing to a honder.

but seriously. I had a 2000 civic si (yes vtak ftw) and raced my friends 05 or 06 spec v and we were pretty much dead even with only intakes and exhausts on both cars. like 180 hp MAYBE.

Like I said. The guy in the Cobalt was frustrating to race.

Yup but the 07+ are a way different car. Think they're rated at something like 200hp. 6spd also helps it out a bit on the highway.

Think the Cobalt just shifted into 4 so probably 100. Haha.

(edit) Also he was t boned by a half ton that ran a light last June and spent 2 weeks in a coma and months in the hospital so I don't blame him for being uncomfortable with speed.

Me to. Had a 94 Sentra as one of my first cars and my Brother had a NX2000.

Ya he was in a little Saturn SC1. Got it right in the drivers door. Only reason he made it was that by chance there was a Ambulance a few cars back in traffic.

My 1st real "quick" car was a 03 Sentra SE-R Spec V, i think they still have the same 2.5 give or take 15-20hp. Spent a bit of money buying Intake, header, full exhaust, tune.....raced a bone stock 04 SRT-4, lost by like 2-3 cars, was so pissed i sold it the next day and bought a 05 Srt4...

but, moral of the story, the Cobalt should win this hands down, 10/10 times.

I had an 04 Spec-V, made in Mexicoke POS and slow as *****.

And the 6spd tranny came right out of a tractor, worst ever.

All that said, it stuck to the road like glue and got awesome mileage on the highway.

test drove the crap out of an 03, was not impressed. This was back in 06 or so. SSSC even stock should take one easily. I love the 02's and such, that front end was sexy. Couple nice ones run around here.

He just got back from a huge road trip and said he raced a SRT4. From 60mph in fourth so he was in the wrong gear. Anyway SRT4 got a jump but my Brother said he pulled on him and passed him up top. I was kinda suprised. He said the SRT4 looked kinda bagged out though.

And I'm not so sure. Seen another Youtube clip where a SC races a Spec V from a dig and loses. The Nissans down on power but think the shorter gearing and being able to rev till 7500rpm helps it a ton on the highway.

Here's the video

This is a whole different car then those years though. Way more refined.

Both Spec V's, the 03-06 and the 07-12 are both low 15 second cars at about 91-93.

I guess that could be considered a drivers race with a stock Cobalt SS/SC, but there is no way it would run down even a stock SRT4, more so when the Spec V is in the wrong gear.

I don't see this car even beating a stock ss sc. That being said, a srt4 should pull/destroy it .

Ya I have no idea about the SRT but I doubt my brother would bullshit me.

Anyway a SC should beat the Spec V in the quarter for sure.

But racing on the street or doing highway pull is a completely different thing. I beat a 12.7 Foxbody doing a 70kmh pull. It's all powerband and gear ratios.

Srt4 probably had something wrong with it. When I had a boost/vac leak on my car, and I was not pushing boost, I was slower than my aunts 2.2 ion lmao.

Could of been, He said it looked bagged out and beat up. He originally wasn't gonna try running it but the guy was beside him for 5 mins revving up and trying to get him to go so my brother just rolled on the gas.

Does your brother know cars pretty well or no? Ive seen a lot of sxt/base neons, and they throw a srt4 body kit on it, and then have stock motor with ricepipe lol

He knows his way around. Starting heaving duty mechanics in Sept so I'd hope so. He heard the bov a bunch of times cause the guy wouldn't leave him alone.

(edit) This sounds like the text convo he had with me after he raced him. I was asking him if he was sure it was a real SRT

Lol I dunno what happened. I was sceptical too.

There is no way he should of won. But good on him. That's how racing goes sometimes. The faster car doesn't always win.
