SS/SC vs "195hp" 2.2 Cobalt

***Cliff Notes at bottom***

So, I get a call from one of my buddies today. He asks,

"You wanna run another cobalt?"

"Not really, but I can... which one is it?" (There aren't many SS/SC's in town, so I was excited to meet a new member and share the site.)

"It's a black LS... with Dual Exhaust."

"Haha, what is the point? I will destroy him!"

"He claims 195hp."

Are you serious?

I reluctantly agree... I've got to see this 195 horse 2.2... So we meet at the Local Wal-Mart.

He pulls up & I ask,

"SO you have 195hp?"

"Yeah. I'll keep up."

"Lets go then."

We cruise out to my area. I tell him that the first race, we'll go from 35, side by side. Okay. SO we get there, and I try motioning for him to slam the gas... That's where the video comes in. No need to explain the race: 195hp 2.2 - Race 1

2nd race... I tell him to go up 5 cars or so doing 40... I'll do 35... when I flash my lights... hit the gas. And here is the aftermath: 195hp 2.2 - Race 2

SO after this race, we go to Wal-Mart to inspect under the hoods. They are all crazy over mine... SWEEEEET!

One asks, "How much did you pay for it?"

"19"

He pipes in, "I paid 18"

HOLY ****! I tried to contain myself. I feel like an ass telling him he just got raped... so I keep it to myself. Anyways, he B.S.'s like no other... then pops his hood.

All he has done... is a custom, straight-pipe Dual-Exhaust...

"195 horse, huh?"

"Yeah... this exhaust really opened up the engine."

"I bet..."

"Yeah, someone is going to Bullet-proof my engine for me here pretty soon... $500."

"WHAT? What are they doing?"

"Pistons, Rods..."

I stopped paying attention right about here. I couldn't take any more. Then he tries telling me about all the cars he runs with and about how he is going to Port & Polish the header. So on, So on.

I told him not to do anything else... to come on here and learn a thing or two.

Hilarious! If you made it on here... take some time to learn a few things. This is the best place to learn what is good and bad for your car.

*** Cliff Notes ***

I spanked the **** out of a 2.2 that thought he had 195hp from JUST DUAL EXHAUST.

*falls out of chair laughing!!!!!* WOW!!!! Holy crap. Noob. He is one of those people who thinks an intake gives him like 40 HP. Wow. What a noob. He needs to come here and learn a whole lot. He maybe has a 150-158, and that is being nice. I would have knowledge pwned him.

I like the first one.

*point*

*WOT*

......*SC.....PWN*

Remember, an 05 LS was like an 06 LT. The 06 LS is the 05 Base model. Also, that vid was funny. Like when i ran a stock wrx the other day.

AAAHA! I knew there was a Cobalt LT... I've been second guessing myself for like the last week or two... "Is it LT or LS?" Now, what are the differences? Same car, different title?

I feel dumb... Senior Premium member asking the differences between an LT and an LS.

lmao my friends step dad told him when he bought the kid a relient K that the pervious owner droped a "race" motor in the car, after the car ran a 19 second 1/4 mile we figured out the motor droped in was a 2.4? 95hp motor rather then the stock 80 hp model not to mention the 3spd auto

The LS is a bit above the base. Cloth seats, premium suspension, and has the 15 inch rims. Mine has power windows/locks, etc but that is an option from what I've heard.

The LTs come in 3 different forms.

1LT - Include all the LS stuff, plus power door locks, power mirrors, floor mats, sport cloth seats, and power windows with a passenger lockout.

2LT- All the other stuff, plus front disk, rear drum ABS, cargo convenience area, cruise control, side moldings, remote start, and 16 inch rims.

3LT- All the other stuff, stainless steel exhaust system with chrome tip, white face sport gauges, sport package (spoiler, 16" rims, touring tires, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob).

And all the LT stuff are options that you can order on the LS, or that the dealer installed before hand.
